I doubled this recipe and when I first tasted it, right after making it, I thought too mayonnaisy, just blah. I put it in a quart jar and stuck it in the fridge and after a few hours - WOW! When my husband tasted it, he went truffling through my kitchen, looking for stuff to dip in it. He actually, no kidding, started dipping bread in the jar. He put it on his hotdogs that night. We love this!

I am very picky about ranch dressing. When it's good I can eat it like soup! I hate the bottled stuff and usually base my opinion of a restaurant on the quality of their ranch. This was excellent. I used buttermilk and added 1/4 tsp. dried dill weed. I will look forward to my salads with this!

This recipe is awesome! I love Outback's dressing and this is a match! It is wonderful on a salad or as a dip in a vegie tray. This recipe actually makes you crave your next salad! Thank you so much for submitting this recipe!

OH MY GOSH! This is just like Outback's!! YUMMY!! I must admit I had to taste it before it chilled and i thought "its pretty good" then i made the fries in the deep fryer, layered them on a plate with colby jack cheese and oscar Meyer bacon bit (only bacon bits that taste like fresh crumbled)and microwaved for 1 minute to melt everything together. WOW!! When i dipped the first french fry in I was floored. I felt like I was at outback steakhouse except i was in my livingroom all comfy and cozy in my sweat pants..LOVED THIS!! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe although i will get tired of making it because i know the kids will BEG endlessly for it all the time.

Absolutely delicious. I didn't do a thing to it....made it just as recipe says to. Served it with a lettuce, tom & cuke salad and it tasted wonderful. Thanks Brooke

As so many others have said, this is terrific! What we thought set it apart was that it had the great flavor of Hidden Valley, but without that slightly metallic, artificial taste. The only minor criticism anyone had was that it was just the tiniest bit thin. By the next morning, it had definitely thickened, so I've made a note to mix it several hours in advance instead of just 30 minutes. Thank you, Brooke Alicia, for a really good dressing/dip recipe!

This is GREAT - and I HATE ranch dressing (2 exceptions: Red Robin and the Outback). It looked a little thin to me, so I added some sour cream to really thicken it up... it was wonderful!

My family and I really enjoyed this recipe and it will become our standard dressing recipe from now on. Just a few simple changes, but well worth the end result. Thank you Brooke for the fantastic recipe.

This is delicious! It's great on salad or with veggies. My husband does not like mayo and doesn't even care for 'white stuff' but even he loved it. Make sure you let it chill for at least the recommended time to get the best flavor.

This is much better than making ranch dressing according to the package directions. My daughter, who dislikes mayonaise, even gave her approval! Makes a great veggie dip as well as a salad dressing. It does thicken up during the chill time. Wouldn't change a thing. Thanks!
