This is a wonderful way to make corned beef! I just wanted the roast to make sandwiches with so the only veg I used was the onion. I added 1 large bay leaf and the whole spice packet. Heineken was the beer of choice. Did my house smell incredible while this was cooking. The corn beef roast turned out moist and VERY flavorful. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Very good. My husband and I had a dinner guest, and we all loved this recipe. Only thing was that I was unsure if I should use the spice packet that comes with the corned beef. I used half of it. Everything turned out great!

Delicious! My entire family enjoyed the corned beef and raved how tender the meat was (cut with a fork). However I did modify the recipe a bit. I used one bottle of beer (Killian's Irish Red)instead of 1 cup. In addition, I was unable to place the cabbage on top of the meat as there was no room. After the corned beef and other vegetables were completly cooked ,I placed the cabbage and the remaining liquid (beer mixture)in a pan and brought to a boil. Excellent flavor.

TOO SALTY. I had made it last night and it was much to salty. I had found other recipes afterwards, that included rinsing the corn beefin cold water. Which makes sense to me. Over all I will make it again. After soaking thr corn beef for a few minutes. Also I think it depends on what brand you use, some are saltier then others.

Delicious. Corned beef was moist and tender. I recommend using half of the spice packet, it was enough flavor. Potatoes, carrots and cabbage came out tender also. 3 lb corned beef was ready on low heat in 8 hours.

Really great and simple, the meat was wonderfully tender and the flavor blended beautifully with the vegies. Sometimes when corned beef is cooked without a lot of liquid I find it a bit salty so I gave it a good soak / rinse while I was preparing the vegies and it came out perfectly.

I tried all new recipes this St. patrick's Day. This corned beef was so tender and the vegetables tasted great. I usually don't cook with beer, so I used light beer and was glad this didn't have a strong beef flavor. Thanks papergoddess. Bullwinkle.

This is a great way to cook corned beef. It gives it a really earthy/meaty flavor. Even the cabbage tastes great. I am about to cook it again today. And I have just printed out the recipe for some of my staff as they all want to try it. Thanks so much for a hassle free meal. Bella

OOOh so good. I used a flat cut 4 pound corned beef. This was delicious and so easy. Love the flavor! Thanks for sharing.

I'm giving this 5 stars because it was very good and I don't want to hurt the rating but I wouldn't ever make it again because the corned beef was so salty--I don't think the saltiness was due to the recipe at all, I think that after making this, I realized that corned beef itself is just naturally too salty for me. I added my entire spice packet which didn't have any salt in it.
