Yum! I omitted the sugar on this, as I've been going for natural fruit sugars lately and the apples have plenty! I have made this twice now, with a double and a triple recipe. One thing - it took much longer than 20 mins on step 3 - more like 45 mins to an hour for me; probably due to the amount of apples.

This is the perfect, simply delicious applesauce. I have made it three times because it goes so fast. So I have been tripling to quartrupling it. It is very yummy. Definitely a keeper recipe.

This was very yummy, however next time I will use less sugar. I found it to be too sweet, however this could just by my taste. I will make this again, thank you for a great recipe.

We really enjoyed this apple sauce! I used Fuji apples since they are good apple sauce apples (from what I read). They never really got "saucy" so I used a potato masher at the end and ended up with mashed and chunky. Everyone loved it!

Good old fashioned Apple sauce - perfect consistency - I used Splenda and cut back just a bit. Excellent - Thanks Rachel Savage

Why did I think applesauce was going to be so hard to make??!! This was easy and turned out so great. I made this for an applesauce lover so I was hoping it would be a success. I didn't know if I was supposed to keep the lid on during the whole cooking time but I did and just took the lid off every few minutes and gave the apples a stir. Once they started getting real soft I used my wooden spoon and started mashing the apples. I didn't want it totally chunky but it turned out the perfect texture, just a little chunky. I used half cinnamon and half nutmeg. Good warm and great cold!! I used 5 granny smith apples and just a tad more water since I added the extra one.

I used brown sugar and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg. I found the spices to be a bit strong but the kids thought it tasted like apple pie filling. Thanks for sharing!
