These were great! I added nutmeg and cloves to the recipe for a bit more spice. My husband loved them and he usually doesn't eat cream cheese.

These were great! I took them to work and they immediately vanished, with rave reviews and recipe requests from my colleagues. I tweaked the icing a bit; used 8oz block of reduced fat cream cheese, 2Tb butter and maybe 2 cups confectioners sugar (didn't measure, but about half a box). I also used Splenda baking blend in the bars instead of sugar. YUMMY!! Will definitely make these again.

This was so tasty! I followed the recipe as it states with two exceptions: I added one teaspoon of nutmeg to the cake and added a splash of milk to the frosting to make it easier to spread onto the cake. Definitely going to keep as one of my favorite Fall recipes. Thanks!

I was searching here for the perfect pumpkin recipe to celebrate at my Pumpkinfest party- and I found it! This cake is Very moist with just the right amount of spice- and the frosting is the perfect compliment! I had a bit of trouble with the frosting- it was very thick & did not want to spread. I should have added some liquid, however, I just dolloped it on the still warm cake and let the heat melt it to spreading consistency. It set up well too, and was a hit with my family! I had to give away the few leftover pieces to my friend- just so I wouldn't eat the rest! Two thumbs way up!

I got this same recipe from Taste of Home magazine. The only change I made is substitute the 1 cup of oil for 1 cup of applesauce to reduce the fat. Try it, it's amazingly moist. Another update: I also added a little pumpkin pie spice to the frosting. It was very good!

Very yummy!! this is the second time that I have used this recipe and this last time I decided to substitute some applesauce for the oil. I did 1/3 cup of oil and 2/3 cup of applesauce. They turned out great and were still very moist and tasty. My kids gobbled it up

Everyone at my party thought these were fantastic, but because it was a party, I made mini muffins and piped the cream cheese frosting in a pretty swirl. They all thought I bought them at a pastry shop. I'll be making them soon and will post a picture, too pretty. Thanks!

Very yummy! I made them because I had everything on hand. They turned out yumtastic. I only shared a bar with my 6 yr old son. So I will take the rest to DM for thanksgiving tomorrow. I did however only use 1/2 tsp of salt, 2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/4 of pumpkin pie spice. The cream cheese I did 8 oz with 4 tbl of butter and 3 cups of powdered sugar with tsp of vanilla. I let it cool a tad then frosted. I then refridgerated it for 4 hours. SOOOO good!
