This is the first pie I have ever made that was gone in a matter of hours. It really is that good! We cut a tiny sliver...just enough for each of the 4 of us to get one bite. DH said I had to take a piece to his Mom and Step Dad, so I took 2 to their house...and they ate every bite. She even requested the recipe...BIG compliment! Then he asked me to cut a nice size piece so several people at his office could sample one bite. I then cut one piece for each of the 4 of us for dessert, and it was GONE. My piece wasn't even big enough! I am making this again this weekend for my parents who are coming from AL. And I will make it EVERY year. I would buy zucchini in the store to make it year round! I topped with Oatmeal Crumb Topping for Pies instead of another pie crust. Thanks SOOOOO much for posting this one...it is FABULOUS!

I can't believe it's not apple. Wow! What a pie very good. The next day it was really hard to tell it was zucchini, it absorbed the darker color of the spices so it looked even more like apples. I also used the oatmeal crust #26205. But watch the oven temp. and time as overbaking will make this crust hard. But it was very good. Will make again when the zucchini starts to take over the kitchen.

Delicious pie! No one suspected the real ingredient. I had one pie crust #26205 in the freezer and made oatmeal crumb topping #109287, scaled to 2 cups, instead of a top crust. Also was about a cup short of zucchini so used some granny smith apple to fill in. Great recipe! Thanks, Rita!

This recipe gets five stars just for making zucchini taste so darn good! You would never guess that its not apple. I was going to skip the cardamon, but I spent the money and I think it was well worth it! Very simple to prepare and the instructions were great, even for a pie novice such as myself. Great recipe Rita and what a way to use up those prolific zucchinis!

WOW!!! I did not make this, the neighbor did for a neighborhood block party, Let me tell you, DH who is an apple pie connoisseur. He ate some without knowing and thought it was incredible. When he found out it was from zucchini he looked at me and said get the recipe. I told him I already had it and planned to make it for dessert Monday. She served it with lowfat cool whip topping. Wonderfully cool and refreshing.

Okay, I got some nice big zucchini from the garden to make this yummy, out of the world recipe. My boys ate theirs all gone. DH - who was skeptical at first - took a couple bites and said WOW! This is really good - I can't believe it's zucchini! I followed the recipe to the letter. What a great recipe. Thanks for sharing.

This is an awesome pie. I actually went to post it myself and found it here. Everyone loves it when they taste it, but I neglect to tell them it's zucchini beforehand. I've found that people arent as ambitious to try it if I tell them. Let them believe it's apple pie and then suprise them!!

We have tons of zucchini in our garden, so I thought I would give this a try. I omitted the cardamom, only because I didn't have any and I made my traditional "Betty Crocker Crust". I can't believe that it isn't apple pie! My husband was like, "how did you make the zucchini tastle like apples?" I love this recipe. and I can't wait to make it again! Thnanks for posting.
