We enjoyed this chicken Di! I used Kraft's Brown Sugar BBQ sauce, which we find comparable to Bull's Eye. It too has a liquid smoke flavouring,so hubby and I pretty much agreed that the BBQ sauce pretty much overpowered the other spices & the bacon,(although the bacon was good for texture.) So, I might be tempted to just skip those ingredients next time. However, it may be worth a try with a very mild(or less?) BBQ sauce. You could probably even make this dish without the BBQ sauce and still have something very tasty. Hubby thought that mushrooms would be good under the cheese, probably because it would then be similar to something he does, sometimes when we are just having plain BBQ chicken breasts, he will put mushrooms & onions on top and melt cheese over it for a little change. The green onions & tomatoes on top dressed this up nicely. We had this with Mashed red potatoes with garlic & parmesan by Mizz Nezz and green & yellow beans with baby carrots and we enjoyed a very nice meal in both taste & presentation! We will make this again! Thanks.

Marvelous! and sooooo easy. We loved the kick of pepper and Italian Seasoning with the sweet of BBQ sauce. Had to use mozzarella-no jack on hand, but turned out fine. Enjoyed it with Darlene's Noodles & Herbs. Thanks for the delish recipe.

Wonderful recipe! Its a high 5 in my book!
DH and I really loved the flavor of the chicken and I was surpised cause it came very close to tasteing like the dish at Ruby Tuesday's. Thats my favorite when I go there for supper. Now I have the recipe
I used our favorite BBQ sauce that I get at H&L produce stand from here in town, its a sweet but hot tasteing sauce. It gave this dish the right amount of smokey tasteing flavor along with the bacon. I am so excited cause this will be maded many of times. I am even thinking on grilling next time. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe Dib's!

All I can say is wowow. This deserves far more than 5 stars! I followed the directions exactly, using KC Masterpiece Barbeque sauce and grated strong cheddar cheese. I highly recommend this to anyone and will definitely make this again!

This was a wonderful chicken dish. Everyone was amazed at how delicious it was. I used only half of the BBQ sauce called for and also subbed extra sharp cheddar for the jack cheese. Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe!

This was so so good! I followed the recipe exactly and I did not find the bbq sauce overpowering at all, I used Sweet Baby Ray's, I did not crumble the bacon either, just layed 2 strips on each breast, this was amazing, I loved the tomato and green onion on top, I also added avacado! excellent dish!

I love "smothered chicken" type recipes but yours is the first I have had that incorporated BBQ sauce and italian seasoning. I opted to go for the smokey-flavor BBQ sauce and because I can't seem to leave mushrooms out of anything I added sliced fresh baby bella mushrooms that I had lightly sauteed in olive oil...otherwise I prepared it per your directions. We really enjoyed the combination of ingredients and this made a nice "adult" dinner for the two of us. This is also something I would definitely serve to company as it has that "wow'em" factor. Thanks for this great recipe!

Absolutely deserves more then 5 stars!! And I made a couple of mistakes. As many times as I read over this, I never caught the bacon. So didn't have that and I added avacado. The avacado only added to the flavor. I cannot wait to try this with bacon. Hubby said why bother when it's this good without.... Very easy to put together. Thanks for sharing a new favorite for this clan.
