9 Reviews of Almost Pierogies

From: Dede11

Just fantastic! A dish everyone really loves. I've been asked for the recipie several times and have had requests to make it. The real key is to make sure the onions are really carmelized. It also helps to use sliced cheese for the top layer to cover all the noodles so they don't get dried out. If you like pierogies, you'll love this. My husband doesn't even like pierogies but loves this.

I've made this on two different occasions and it's been a big hit. Several people have asked for the recipe. At the request of my daughter, I'm making it tonight. tastes just like a pierogie.

Tastes just like pierogies. Awesome comfort food. I used leftover mashed potatoes that had butter, garlic and sour cream already in them. The sauteed onions are really good in this. I used sharp cheddar in the first layer and topped it with velveeta slices. I halved the recipe and it came out great in an 8x8 pan. Hubby said it was really good as well. Will make again soon. Thanks for posting!

I have a very similar recipe posted here, so of course, I knew that I would LOVE this one! I used the optional garlic and loved it. A big pan of cheesey comfort food. You can't beat it! Thanx for sharing your recipe!

Yum! This is easy and delicious. I made a small batch and had it for breakfast. I heated it in the microwave rather than the oven. Would be good with bits of ham added in. Thanks for sharing!

GREAT TASTING & most enjoyable! I did cut the recipe in half for 4 of us this time, but liked it so much, that I'm already planning on making the full recipe for dinner guests within the next two weeks! I included the garlic, which added an additional nice flavor! [Made & reviewed in the Family Picks part of Zaar World Tour 4]
