This is the best peanut butter cookie ever. The only thing I did differently was used half butter and half crisco. I won a blue ribbon at the fair. This dough keeps very well in fridge if you don't want to bake all the cookies at once.

YUM! This takes the place of my old recipe. I love these cookies..Words to discribe them: Chewy inside, crunchier outside, flatter, light colored, peanut buttery!!
Everything i've been looking for, where have you been all my life!? Thanks!

These were great. Tastes like bakery quality and each one came out perfect at 12 minutes. (I allow them to cool on the pan completely before removing onto plates). I used regular shortening and creamy Jif PB. Next time I'd like to try it w/ crunchy PB

I've always loved a certain grocery store's peanut butter cookie and for the last year I've been trying to duplicate it, with mixed results. This recipe was similar to what I'd come up with so I decided to try it. Success!! To match my dream cookie I did add more salt (1 tsp. extra) and 1 tsp. water to make them flatter and chewier. I also omitted the sugar coating. Thanks so much for the recipe, they are yummy!

Just wanted to thank Lisa for sharing this recipe. I used butter because I didn't have any Crisco but followed everything else to the tee. These are the most perfect peanut butter cookies! I will never do another peanut butter cookie again and will pass this on to my little girl. Thanks Lisa.

These cookies were good but definately not the best, I really think that the large amount shortening took away lots of flavor from the cookie. I might try these using half butter and half shortening next time. Thanks, Kittencal

We've found a winner! Yummy! I forgot to roll them in sugar, but they were delicious, the whole family ate them up before they got cold. We used crunchy PB, cause that's what we prefer - it added a great texture to have the nuts. We made 15 4-inch cookies. Next batch we're going to try to shove in some chocolate chunks.

These are wonderful cookies! Soft and buttery with a great texture. A nice dough to work with - doesn't stick all over your hands when rolling into balls. Also tastes really good raw - in fact, I couldn't keep out of it after mixing it up! (oops!) My batch yielded closer to 4.5 dozen cookies - but I'm not complaining!
Thanks!

Give Big Grandma a great BIG hug! I can not wait to bring these to the next family gathering - they are perfect in all accounts of ease of prep. appearance, tast and texture. I used all butter and all light brown sugar - Thanks Liisa N!!
