The whole family said definite 5 stars! I made this for the vegan in the house but everybody loved it and it's easy to make after work as well. The only change I made was that I used a can of diced tomatoes, rather than crushed, simply because I couldn't find a 16-oz. can of crushed tomatoes. I did use vegetable broth to keep this vegetarian. This is very tasty and makes a nice big pot, which is welcome in our household, we love leftovers. Thanks so much Carianne for helping me keep my household vegan alive for a while longer!

This is the first time I've cooked with Lentils, and I was a bit skeptical that my family would eat it and also enjoy the chili. Needless to say, my picky family ate the whole recipe, and even asked me to bookmark this page so that I can make it for dinner again. It really is fast, delicious and easy!

This is super easy to make and a gives ya tons of left overs! I made it for a dinner party and everyone absolutely loved it! We added tortilla chips on the side for dipping.

Delicious and the lentils replace the meat. I did saute the onion and peppers till soft and then added the rest of the ingredients also added a tsp of brown sugar. This in a keeper.

Not bad at all. I use 29 oz. crushed tomatoes rather than sauce. I also added kidney beans, mushrooms, and carrots. I had to cook it a bit longer than it says to on here, but it was still quite good. Thanks!

Easy and tasty! I used chicken broth, subbed 2 fresh tomatoes and 100 g of tomato paste for the sauce, and used only 1,5 ts of my extra hot chili powder (it is very, very hot - I wouldn't hesitate to use 2 tbls of my regular milder chili mix in this!). Just right! Thanks for a lovely recipe!

this really is great. i used black beans in place of corn (because that's what i had on hand, but i am sure corn would be good in there, too) and garam masala instead of allspice. plus, i added some cayenne pepper and picante sauce in order to liven it up. taste explosion.

So easy to make and so yummy. Like the person before me, I used twice as many crushed tomatoes instead of the tomato sauce, and I added some celery and kidney beans and a bit of cinnamon. I can never go back to meat chili now.

what a great dish!!! so tasty. i think next time though i'll reduce the quantity of chilli powder as this almost blew my socks off!! i did wonder if the 2 tablespoons of chilli was maybe a typo??
