Excellent sauce recipe. I sauteed the onions and garlic as stated, but then put them in the blender with the tomato sauce and tomato paste to blend them until smooth. I also left out the dried Italian seasoning - used fresh basil and parsley instead. The butter is very unique in tomato sauces, but added to the smoothness. Also added a pinch of sugar because the tomato tasted acidic. Very good. Thanks, Kittencal.

I had a bunch of fresh tomatoes to use up, so I made a double batch of this for the freezer. I did add 2 Tbsp. of sugar to cut the acid of the fresh tomatoes. Not sure about the butter-I don't see it listed in the ingredients?? I froze it chunky for spaghetti sauce, but if I use it for pizza, I'll puree after thawing. I really like this sauce and am hoping to freeze more! Thanks!

This sauce is a wonderful keeper. We loved it but will definitely cut down on the salt the next time. It was just a little too salty for our taste since the other ingredients already have salt in them the amount of salt in the recipe is a little much. Other than that, this recipe is excellent and I will be using it from now on. Thank you.

The smell from this recipe got my husband up out of bed to see what was cooking and then he stood there and stirred it for about 10 minutes. My husband does not cook, so this is saying something. I used half and froze the rest for another time. Thanks for sharing...this is a keeper!!

This is going to be the only pizza sauce I use from now on! My 10 year old son, who never likes anything LOVED this sauce! In fact....my whole family loved it. I didn't have any Italian seasoning so I used dried basil and parsley. I froze some and used the rest for pizza. Thanks!

Great sauce! We had it on a homemade pizza crust and it was so delicious. I only added a dab of sugar, as I hate my sauce sweet, especially for pizza sauce. It was just enough and tasted great! Cheers from around the table with this one!

Great pizza sauce! I had always been lazy & used a jar of store bought pizza or spaghetti sauce but they were always too runny or had no taste. So came upon this recipe while searching the site. I used a 6 oz can of tomato paste (wasn't going to bother measuring out 1/4 cup) and a 28 oz can of tomato puree and I also added 1 tsp of sugar. Started the sauce while "Eazy Peezy Pizza Dough" was rising in the breadmaker. What a great combination. Only complaint my teenage daughter had was that there was too much sauce. So I guess next time I'll have to make 2 batches of pizza dough! No more store bought pizza sauce again when a great tasting sauce can be made this easily. Thanks, Kittencal!

Hi Kitten; Made this recipe last nite and used it on a TORTILLA to make my vegetarian pizza and Oh WOW, so good. I halved the recipe as I like to make fresh all the time, tastes so much better. Left the garlic amounts as I love garlic. Thanks for a very tasty sauce for Pizza. "Uncle Bill

Really great sauce recipe. I had a lot of tomatos that ripened at the same time from my garden and I was looking for a way to prep them so that I could use them at a later date. This recipe is a wonderful way to store and use later. The taste is to die for. Way to go kitten another winner.
