Yum - we have been making these for years and love them. We use the midget polish dills and dried beef. We spread the softened cream cheese on the dried beef then roll it around the pickle.

These are awesome. I make them anytime my friends come over and they all go nuts for them. Last Sunday watching football they were actually chanting Ham Rolls! Ham Rolls! (yes they were drinking beer too)

We make these every year for all of our family get-togethers. They are everyone's favorite. Although we don't use toothpicks, instead we cut them smaller and skinnier so they are perfect bite sized pieces! I recommend this to all!

This was initially planned as a gluten free appetizer at a recent gathering at our house this month - finding how good they were I made up enough for everyone. Good thing! Found a white square serving platter makes these even more appealing - if that's possible! Filled a little crystal container with picks and set it along side. Used a large package of ham containing no fillers, had my ham slices just the right size to wrap the pickle. Spread the ham generously with Phildelphia cream cheese spreadable (chive and onion) rolled it around the pickle wrapped tightly with wrap and refrigerated. Longer refrigeration makes for great slices. Went one step further for for the rest of the guests, made some up rolling around a great tasting cooked sausage. Both were real winners - not only the guests but the teenager gave these the thumbs up too! Thank you for sharing a great appetizer recipe to add to my collection.

These always disappear every time I make them. We like to use spicy pickles, also. Hubby calls these "monkey pods"; I don't know why. I think this is a great appetizer or snack made with ingredients I usually keep on hand.

I make these with kosher spears, using pastrami, ham or roast beef. Never tried the the cream cheese; I always used dijon mustard. I'm gonna combine the two and spread it on the meat. I pierce 'em with toothpicks like little hors'd'ourves(sp?). Simple tastes that go well together. Thanks for reminding me about this appetizer!

This is an unusual combination of ingredients, but they taste so good. And they really are hard to stop eating. I found that using the baby dill pickles works better then slicing the regular dill pickles because the pickle juices don't come out until you bite into them.

Okay. I make these and always get looks, but then after one bite they are under my spell!! I USE TONS OF CREAM CHEESE!! The more the better!! I can usually use a block and a half of cream cheese and a whole jar of the refridgerator pickles (Vlasic Hearty Garlic whole Kosher Dills) I also use dried beef, but I do not shred it - I just wrap it around the pickle. I put the cream cheese on the pickle instead of on the meat. Seems to work for me! Enjoy! You will not regret it...anyways, this is what I always say...a recipe with cream cheese...well, that is just a good recipe!!!

These are my boyfriends favorite...he will sit and eat these all day if I would let him...we have a debate in our family, what is better in the middle, green onions, or pickles...I think pickles hands down

I've also been making these for years. I don't refrigerate before I slice them though and I slice them a little thinner to make them go farther. I wait until the cream cheese is room temp and pat the ham dry to make the cream cheese easier to spread.
