The kids (and hubby!) just love these, and they're so easy to make! We fry in oil and butter and sometimes vary the taste by sprinkling with powdered sugar and cinnamon, or dipping them in a glaze of powdered sugar, vanilla and water mixed together. This does bring back memories... of the kids when they were younger and would have sleep-overs. This was almost always the sleep-over breakfast.

These are so good and easy! I tear the biscuit in half and make doughnut holes in my frydaddy instead of regular doughnuts. Also, I like a variety of toppings and use powdered sugar, cinnamon and sugar, and a glaze of powdered sugar and water! Yummy!

Been making these all my life....so yummy!! We always used the lid from the vanilla extract bottle to pop out the holes. Oh man, I am hungry just thinking about making them again!!!

My mom used to make these for us for breakfast at our house. We would dip them in sweetened condensed milk... YUM! It was our Thai version of a beignet I suppose... I miss them! Thanks for bringing back some great childhood memories by posting this in the 'simple recipes you are almost embarrassed to post'. I think I will go make a batch now!!!

I made these doughnuts before I got married,(I have been married 40 years)All through bringing up my kids,(They make them now)And when my grandkids spend the night they love to make them with me. These are delicious Hot,but when they get cold they are not as good,so eat em while they are hot. Darlene Summers

I made these for my family this morning and they loved them. They were amazed because I have neved made donuts before. We prefer chocolate glaze, so I found an easy one in Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate! Bundt Cake With Chocolate Glaze that I could make with what I had on hand. They were so good and easy that I made a second batch just to keep up with demand. Thanks for a great family treat!

I first made these in Girl Scouts many, many years ago, then again later in college. Now that I have kids, they've appeared in the kitchen again, much to the girls' glee. We put cinnamon-sugar in a brown paper bag, pop the hot donuts in, close and shake...very easy and minimal clean-up. Inexpensive and quick to make, these are a great treat. :o)

I love making these! I use the top the oil container to punch a hole in the dough, that way i get a perfect center and munchin. It's like two doughnuts in one!

I made these for a Mother's Day Brunch for my MIL and family. They were a huge hit! Everyone raved how pretty they looked and how tasty they were. I also tossed a few in powder sugar as well as a cinnamon and sugar mixture. This will be my standard donut recipe. Thanks for sharing! Marianne

We used to make these when I was a kid. They remind me of Krispy Kreme donuts. YUMMMMMY!
