Oh, these were wonderful! I made these for work yesterday, and everyone loved them. I doubled the recipe because a 9-inch pan of anything just isn't big enough if I'm bringing treats to work. The only real change I made was to add half a bag of semisweet chips to the batter (personal preference - I don't care for peanut butter without chocolate or jam, even in cookies and such). I wasn't sure how they were going to bake up because the batter was so thick, but they came out beautifully. Nice, thick, and chewy. The frosting layer was a bit thick when doubled (no complaints from me, but some people don't like a lot of frosting); maybe a 1.5 frosting increase for a double batch would be better. At any rate, very good, nice change of pace from the usual brownies and bar cookies. ADDITION: These bars keep well, too. I found this out because a girl in the office had taken a few and squirreled them away in a container at her desk when I made them about a week or so ago. Well, she forgot they were there, but we were starving and didn't have time to go and get food. We ended up eating the peanut butter bars, and they were still great (yes, I was a little skeptical because they were about a week old, but we were desperate). They didn't taste stale at all, which was a great bonus (since we probably would have eaten them anyway)!

These are absolutely incredible!!! I started tasting the icing while the brownies were baking, and ended up making another batch of it so that DH and I could eat it by the spoonful and still have some left for the brownies!!! It's that good! I ground the oatmeal in my food processor before adding it; other than that, I didn't change a thing! I will be making these again, I know, and the next time I feel like cheating on my diet, I'm going to go whip up some of this icing and dig in!

I too was a bit skeptical of these when i saw how thick the batter was, but Muffin Goddess was right, these bake up beautifully. Quick & easy with ingredients that are usually on hand, these will satisfy a peanut butter craving!

These were good! Nice and chewy....I did add some cocoa powder to the frosting because I have to have a bit of chocolate with my peanut butter. Thanks!

This is a very nice brownie. It is easy to make & the instructions are clear. I omitted the frosting, as I am not fond of frosting on brownies, but did add a handful of choclate chips to the batter. Yummy!

I'm afriad this was a disaster for me! I doubled the recipe and added about 3/4 cup of choc chips and it just came out like mush. I baked it at 350 for about 45 minutes but even fully cooled they still quiver when I shake the pan and they taste... almost raw... in the middle. Sigh.

Wow, these taste absolutely delicious! They just melt in your mouth. I'm in love with the icing that goes on top. I had a hard time keeping myself out of the icing bowl. I can't wait to make these again. I was wondering maybe next time putting the oatmeal in a blender and making a powder instead of using the whole oats. I'll let you know how it turns out!

These are indescribable...totally delish!!! Made them after dinner and we sat down to watch a movie. I got up to take them out and frost them as BF said how about some popcorn. I gave him a square of these and he says "Forget the popcorn I want this and a glass of milk." Enough said!!!!! Making these again, lots and maybe with some chocolate added too!
