We really enjoyed these too — a little greasy for every day eating but fabulous for a treat once in a while. Don't leave them too long as they get soggy. I think they might crisp up well in the oven again if you really needed to make them ahead of time. The quantities given are generous. I made a half batch and it was more than enough for 2 people. I got about 12 good sized pancakes out of the recipe.

We liked these as well! They did soak up alot of the oil. I used olive oil, but peanut oil may be a better choice. I am planning on making these again as we love smoked gouda, but I am going to try to brush them with butter to see if that helps. They hold together well and are very easy to make. The flavor is just great!! It is a wonderful combination!

I've got a lot of Sharon123's recipes saved in my cookbooks, so am delighted to be able to make and review this one! I made half the quantity and like Sackville, found it made more than enough for 2 people. Unlike other reviewers, we didn't find these too greasy (but then I only used the littlest drop of oil). My pancakes didn't hold together too well, but lack of presentation was more than compensated for by flavour. Rating-wise I wavered between 4 and 5 stars, but Mr B says it's a definate 5, so 5 it is!

Absolutely delicious, Sharon! I’m only writing a quickie review for now as my internet connection is currently so dodgy that sometimes I’m only connected for a few minutes in twelve hour period. VERY frustrating. I’ll come back later and review this again when these problems have been resolved!

These were very good, although very rich. I only used a small amount of oil on the first batch and I think I probably didn't need that. I will be making them again for a special treat! Thanks for sharing.

We really liked these and used them to accompany plain, grilled chops. I wasn't able to find the smoked Gouda but used a smoked Regato - lovely taste to the potato mixture. The kids enjoyed snacking on them too, long after dinner.
