This was pretty good and very easy to make. I did not use the red onion but we topped ours with shredded cheddar cheese and light sour cream. I think if I made this again I would add some salsa to the blender.

I used chicken broth in this soup and increased the amount of cumin. Topped with red onion and cilantro, this is a perfectly simple soup with tons of flavor. It is a great bonus that the prep was so simple.

I love this soup. It's quick, easy and delicious. I usually add a can of milder Rotel tomatoes with the 2nd can of black beans. It's also good with a spoonful of fat-free sour cream in the bowl. Freezes wonderfully!

This soup is delicious and so easy to make! I will use a can of tomatoes next time also. I added an extra clove of garlic and I may decrease the amount of cumin just a bit, but this is just my personal taste. Delicious with tortilla chips! I cannot get over how quick it was to make it! Thanks Tessamami!

Excellent recipe and very filling...added a little creme fraiche along with my red onions and cilantro and it gave a nice creaminess...my only issue was that it took hours to get the smell of cumin out of my house, but that wasn't so terrible!

I made this the day before a dinner party then just heated it up. I used black and romano beans. It was an excellent starter! Unfortunately the requests for seconds could not be met. Therefore, I'll either be doubling the recipe or having fewer dinner guests. Thanks for this great recipe tessamami

I recently made this to try with Barb Gertz's Sage and Roquefort Pesto (Sage and Roquefort Pesto). I like the soup very much and I like the combination.

This was an easy and quick soup to make. I added some ancho powder, mexican oregano, cayenne pepper and an 8 oz. can of tomato sauce. It was a good soup. Thank you for sharing your recipe tessamami!

I followed this exactly, except didn't have any cilantro on hand. We topped ours with red onion & a bit of shredded cheddar. I loved that this comes together sooo quickly, and I always have these items on hand. I just enjoyed the soup; DH paired his with a cheese-tomato-onion quesadilla.
