OMG!!! Are you serious?!?!?!?! - Where have you been my whole life! Look people, it simply doesn't get any better than this! No more forcing down the healthy stuff, this recipe keeps you wanting more, and more, and more.... need I go on? I only feed my husband and I, so I cut the recipe in half which ended up being pleanty (unless you want leftovers, or your making a meal out of it, I served it as a side with rice). I also didn't have fresh Bay Leaf - so I used 1/8 teaspoon dry (1/4 if your making the whole batch), and I didn't bother removing it. Wondering what to do with the leftovers?? Place them on a greased baking sheet and put them in the oven @ 450 until they are dry and crispy, and store in an air tight container. It makes for a GREAT munchie snack... I take mine to the movies
Enjoy!

We are not normally lentil eaters, but I decided to try this recipe because it was cheap, easy and looked good. It was fantastic! I sprinkled it with tabasco-vinegar sauce and it was even better! Next I'm going to try making a sandwich with it. Thanks Cornelia for the great recipe!

these are a very nice change from the usual spicy lentils or lentil soup. we had them in tortillas with sauteed spinach. dh and i both agreed that with more veggies (we're thinking red peppers, zucchini sweet onion, sauteed) added. thanks for this yummy, healthy recipe! **adding that dh said it would be great with bacon or ham added and cheese in a tortilla as well!

This is a delicious way to prepare lentils! I have fond memories of eating lentils as a child - my mother often would order lentil soup at restuarants and I always snuck a taste. This recipe is so tasty and unique- even the lentil haters in the bunch enjoyed them this way. Very clear instructions, and makes a ton of lentils - served as a side dish, I could easily get 15 servings out of this. Thanks!

Excellent flavor! I made a half recipe and baked it in a 2Qt (~9x9) casserole dish. I like the fact that the honey is drizzled on top, giving it a sweet layer, contrasting with the more savory bottom. I acutally omitted the 1/2 cup water that you add when you bake because I wanted this to be firm and there was a little water left from boiling the lentils. It came out just right. I actually found the spices a little subtle for my tastes, so next time I might bump them up a notch. I really enjoyed the flavor the soy and ginger gave. Next time I would add more onion too. Overall, a tasty dinner! BF had his over rice, I just had mine with a couple slices of Jan's Irish Soda Bread #9198, and the flavors went really suprisingly well together! Thanks for a nice meal- will make this again!

Absolutely loved this recipe! I've made it twice so far and can give some input about the water content. The first time round, I used the exact amount of water called for and baked it for an hour and it turned out a bit dry (but tasty). The next time I checked the lentils periodically while baking until it was just a bit moist. Turned out that with my oven I only needed 45 minutes. It was even better than the first time!

Excellent recipe. I added some garlic and cumin powder and had some chile sauce on the side. It was great over rice and served with a tortilla. Lots left over for the freezer for later use. Thank you Cornelia.

Wonderful. I slightly undercooked the lentils, then put it in the crockpot to finish. Sauteed up some venison sausage, and added it toward the end and served it over white basmati rice. I tweaked the spices to our liking, adding garlic, paprika, and cumin. Everyone wanted the recipe. Thanks so much.

These were SO good! I didn't even know I liked lentils unti I tried these. I ended up slightly over cooking mine (Fiance was late getting home) but it didn't detract from the great flavour. I can't wait to make these again!! Thanks so much for this great introduction to lentils!

Good, cheap, copious food! Went well with bbq pork, and I have been eating it leftover for lunch since. makes a lot, next time I would probably cut it in half!
