Seriously GOOD!!! I finely chopped my onions, otherwise followed recipe directions, and I must say, I am very much a believer in homemade is better. Where has this recipe been all my life as I was pouring the yucky dried stuff into a tub of sour cream and calling it onion dip??This is one to impress guests with.My daughters and I had a sample before I stuck in the fridge to chill, and we could not quit oohing and aahing over this.Creamy and just enough sharpness from the cream cheese and sour cream. It is perfection.Thank you thank you!

I made this to take to my sister's house on Easter, good thing I made a double batch, because it was almost all gone by the time we left. Another sister made sure I gave her the recipe before I left. It was a huge hit!! I served the dip with 3 different kinds of crackers. My mom insisted that I bring this to my Dad's birthday party next week. I wouldn't change a thing!! Thank you so much Kimke for the wonderful dip!!!!

This was an excellent dip. I used it at a Super Bowl party and everyone loved it. I did have to change the recipe little; I used 8oz cream cheese and a cup of sour cream. The key here is to get those onions nice and brown without burning them. I will also cut down on the vegetable oil next time; I think a ΒΌ cup is a lot.

Perfect onion dip. We loved this for our Super Bowl snacking. It is necessary to serve this at room temperature to get the best of the flavors and for the cream cheese to be soft enough to dip the chips without breaking.

I made this for a superbowl party and doubled the recipe. People were eating it and telling others to try it. We will definitely be making this again and again. YUMMY!
One lady liked it so much that she couldn't wait for me to email her the recipe because she wanted to go home and make it for another party she was going to the same night. I gave her my copy of the recipe and need to print out another one for my file.
The only change I will make in the future is when I make a double batch again I will decrease the amount of oil as the onions were swimming in it. DELICIOUS!

I've made this a few times and it has been a huge hit. I followed the recipe exactly the first time. It was great. The second time I doubled the cayenne accidentally, which made the dish too spicy. I also made sure the onions were cut smaller, so there wouldn't be long string of onion when you dipped something. Lastly, it felt a bit too thick, so I added another 1/2 cup of sour cream once it was done, and while it did thin the dip, it didn't alter the flavour profile very much. This is a very versatile recipe, that's easy to make and gets lots of compliments. It's on my regular entertaining list from now on.

Absolutely wonderful! I doubled the recipe and added two mashed cloves of garlic to the onion while it was cooking. This was gone in no time. I will definitely be making this again.

This is SO good! I made it for a family picnic and everyone raved about it and it was gone in no time flat! I only changed one thing, I used paprika instead of cayenne and it turned out wonderfully! We splurged on some thick-cut kettle-style sea salt chips and they were amazing with the creamy, carmalized onion flavor. This recipe will be made over and over at my house!

I love this dip and make it often for family get togethers. It is very simple to make and goes great with Old Fashioned Kettle Chips. Thank you for sharing!

Flavorful, RICH and perfect. I only needed to use one onion, as ours were jinormous (one onion produced well over 3 cups, once sliced!) Thanks for sharing- this will be the only onion dip we ever make again! Yum!
