Made this for my sons 13th birthday dinner. We all pigged out on this! One of my five gremlins hates almost all food but he actually ate this and liked it. Though I think it tortured him to admit it. I didn't follow the directions of course but it turned out perfect. I made my own french toast and set it aside to cool. Then fried the ham slices and turkey slices until there was a good scald on em'; then I diced them and set aside to cool. I mixed up cold milk, 1 T. dried parsley and eggs in a bowl and set it aside. Buttered the bottom of a huge casserole dish, layered whole slices of cooled french toast, the diced meat, then used slices of swiss cheese instead of diced. Layered again with the french toast, meat, cheese slices, then I poured the egg/milk mixture over the whole thing, covered it with foil and let it sit in the fridge all day. Cooked it covered for 20 minutes, then uncovered for another 10. Took out and let set for 10 min then served individual servings topped with the sliced berries and homemade whipping cream sweetened with sugar and vanilla. Thanks for submitting this recipe. It was truly scrumptious!

Oh My Gosh!! The whole family ate it-- all of them!! I knew my husband liked Monte Cristo Sandwich from Bennigans- and the kids liked this casserole. Next time I might just mix it all together in a big bowl instead of layering. I put a light layer of additional swiss cheese on top for the last 15 minutes of cooking. I also used cinnamon french toast, because it was on sale. Thanks!!!!

Thanks for the recipe! My husband is a big fan of the monte cristo sandwich, and he really liked this recipe. I had my doubts at first, but I have to admit that this makes a great dinner! Add a fruit salad and presto. I don't think I'll change a thing, and that's saying a lot, because I'm notorious for "tweaking" things to fit my taste. Thanks again! kellie2

Good work, Normaone! Splendid recipe. I'm supposed to watch my sugar intake, so instead of the ice cream topping, I used Smucker's sugar free strawberry preserves. It was wonderful.

This is the exact same recipe as the Pampered Chef Monte Cristo Casserole. I LOVE IT!! I make this often....it's so simple to make. We'll eat this for breakfast or lunch OR supper. It's always a hit with company or at brunch potlucks. Yummy!

Great! I halved the recipe and baked it in an 8x8 pan since there were just 3 of us for breakfast. I knew BF would enjoy it since he's a big fan of Bennigan's Monte Cristo sandwich. We wound up with an extra kid at breakfast, and everyone thought this was great. The unanimous response was "More!" and I've been requested to make it again, but to make the full recipe. Rather than the strawberry topping I used raspberry preserves, and since we were a little low on Swiss cheese I threw in a handful of shredded Monterey Jack cheese to supplement. Easy to make, extremely well-received, and a definite "do again". Thanks!

This was so good! Yummy! I absolutly love the sandwich at Bennigan's, but all of them around me closed down...Thank goodness for this great recipe, not only is it delish, but it is HEALTHY!! I made this early and let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours then shoved it into the oven. Turned out great!

This is a good recipe. I enjoyed it. I was hoping it would be a hit with my 5yr old daughter, but she didn't like it. Truthfully, although the flavors are there...it can't compare to a real monte cristo sandwich. A good substitute for those of us that don't have a Bennigans nearby.

This is a great recipe. I made it for brunch this morning and served it with Raspberry Sauce #33624 instead of the strawberries. Husband went back for seconds - something he rarely does. This is a keeper.
