Finally...an oatmeal cookie that has turned out perfectly for me the non-baker! This was going to be my last attempt at making oatmeal cookies, since every other time over the past years, the cookies have spread too far and been more like an thin oatmeal crisp. They were pretty tasty, but definitely the chewy, hearty oatmeal cookie I crave. Now I have my recipe and can bake with confidence, following these good, simple directions. I used an interesting combination of dried berries...cranberries, cherries and blueberries...along with a generous cup of chopped pecans. Delicious! Thank you PetitFour for restoring my faith in oatmeal cookies!

I made this recipe yesterday and the cookies were delicious. I used parchment paper for the first time and I will never bake without it again. It is great! I wondered about the tbsp. of honey in this recipe but it must help with the golden brown color and great texture. I made about 42 cookies using a rounded tbsp. I didn't add cranberries due to my husband's insistence. The oven time was dead on and this will now be my official oatmeal cookie recipe. They were lovely and crisp on the outside and soft and chewy in the middle. How nice to find a recipe that needs no adjustments regarding oven time, etc. Thank you Petitfour!

Highest of high ratings for these gems. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. *pop!* Oh dear, there goes another one right into my mouth. Holy schnikey. I love the balance of flour (I used whole wheat pastry flour) to oats in this recipe-- just right. I used a mix of dried fruits including 1/2 c dates, 1/4 c each raisins, cranberries, and coconut, and 1/2 c pecans. To reduce the saturated fat content a bit I used 1 stick of butter plus just shy of 7 T oil, and I also used Splenda in place of the white sugar. As a result of these subs, they don't spread on their own as much as I like, so I just smashed them with my hand before baking (or right after they came out), and that did the trick. Thanks so much for posting this. I've found the perfect oatmeal cookie!

These cookies were proclaimed the best cookies ever by my entire family, including by my father who would usually avoid anything healthy such as "oatmeal" or "cranberry", even in a cookie. They were easy to make and no one could get enough of them, despite already being full from dinner. Everyone should try these cookies!
They just were super fabulous
Thank you so much!

Everything Petitfour says is true. These are delicious and truly addictive. I have made more batches of these this month than I can count. Some with cranberries, some with mixed dried fruits and some with tropical fruits and they were all delicious.

I made these for the first time and they were really good!!! I decreased the sugar to 1/2 brown and 1/2 white; didn't have any parchment paper so I sprayed the cookie sheet with cooking spray and they came out perfect. Baked them exactly between 9-10 minutes, will be making them again definitely.

Delicious, chewy cookies. This recipe made 4 dozen cookies. I took them to a party and they were a huge hit! I will be making these again soon as they are disapeering fast.

We'd had some chewy oatmeal-cranberry cookies in the past, and had never succeeded in successfully replicating them. When I found this recipe called for honey, it peaked my interest - and boy did I luck out. This is THE BEST oatmeal cookie recipe. I will never go back to anything else. One recommendation - do roll them into logs and cut them into cookie pieces - they turn out more even and well-sized for everyone. Thanks!

These cookies were awesome! Everyone loved them! I substituted white chocolate chips for the pecans and omitted the white sugar so they weren't overly sweet-they still came out perfect. I will definitely make these again! Thanks for the recipe!

I just made these and baked only 2 cookies to taste...they were sooo goood! I rolled up the rest into a log and put it in the freezer. I plan to bake it for my Girls' Luncheon in three days! Thanks for a great recipe!
