I was sceptical about trying this, but really hating to go to the doctor and being desperate for some medicine, I decided to give it a try. This cough medicine is amazing! Every time I coughed, I would take a tablespoon of the medicine, and within 3 days, the cough was gone. Later, I made some for my aunt who was sick. Same results...within a few days the cough was gone. Thanks for posting a great recipe and saving me mega bucks that I would have spent for medicine at the pharmacy!

I've NOT been dealing with a bad cough for the past 2 fortnights. It's because of my STRONG DISLIKE to take medicines. I prefer natural cures, really. I've been drinking this of late, and my cough is much much better(almost going away). I am not just going to save this in my book, but recommend it to everyone I know. I've made a batch for a friend as well. Really easy, cheap, home-made, natural and most of all, it WORKS like a charm! Thank you very much for posting this very effective home treatment to fight nasty irritating cough.

This tastes awful, but works great! My daughter (5 years) and I have both tried it for nagging coughs, and it helped both of us. My daughter calls it that "disgusting" cough medicine, but readily admits that it does a bang-up job of alleviating her cough.

Made this recipe for my daughter who had a bad cough for a couple of weeks. Gone in 2 days. Got the same cough myself, and kept waking up my husband at night with my coughing. Made another batch, slept through the night (both of us.) My oldest daughter is in medical school, and she caught a cold and a terrible cough. She's come by twice to pick up her "prescription." She likes it because it doesn't make her drowsy or anxious, and it works well.

This tastes so much better than any OTC cough medicines or cough syrups I have tried! In fact, I kinda like the taste. I could feel a burning sensation all the way down. Have made this several times already. Sometimes I only use 1 tablespoon of water and add 1 tablespoon of vodka. I've shared this remedy with friend, they like it too!!

well..my DH (the D doesn't stand for darling in this case) gave me a cold!!! Took some OTC cough syrup and it was AWFUL!!!! Decided to give this a try...tasted MUCH better than the OTC cough syrup. It helped my cough a little but what I was amazed about was...my raw sore throat. I had a terrible sore throat and with one teaspoon full it was much much better. With one batch it was GONE!! I have told everyone I work with what it has done for me. All I can say is ...if you have a cough and a sore throat you have nothing to lose by trying this.

THANK YOU ! I really dislike OTC cough medicine, decided to give this a try and it worked great. I was using just honey to soothe my cough, and it wasn't working. I like the peppery tingle, I think that's the key ingredient for me.

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with this remedy. It really works! I've noticed a significant improvement in my cough just today. The taste, well, it's kind of like hot, very sweet salad dressing (lol!), but it's not so horrible. Every time I've started coughing, I've taken one teaspoonful as directed. It does the job, and does it well. Thanks for posting this!
