This recipe is awesome and easy to fix. I used a Fuji apple instead of a tart apple since I didn't have one on hand and substituted golden raisins for the regular ones since they are not as sweet. I also added all the garlic when sautéing the onions. Thank you so much for a yummy recipe. My 17 month old loved it!
The only other adjustment I would make is to add more lentils and less rice. Over all SUPER YUM!

When I've made curried lentils in the past, it turns into a big pot of mush. For some reason, the addition of the rice really helped everything to hold it's shape in this recipe. The texture was really nice. The addition of the apples was wonderful, and although I was skeptical, the raisins were great. The only significant change I made was to add all the garlic when sauteeing the onions. Everyone in our household loved this dish. Thank you for the wonderful recipe!

We're eating more vegetarian and this is an excellent addition to anyone's recipe box. This is tasty, filling, great for the tired cook and tastes great with a dollop of yogurt on top. Even DH said, "Make it again!" DS disdains it but he's not too adventurous.

I was running short on time, so I threw everything in a covered casserole dish and baked in oven. Used cumin instead of curry and omitted raisins, because of family preferences. Tasty, delicious, I could eat this as a meal. Love my rice and lentils.

I especially appreciated the ease of preparation & not having to cook the rice separately. Next time I will add some cayenne, since we all like very spicy food. Good recipe and very healthy. Thanks.

Easy and tasty. This was a bit bland for my tastes. Next time I might add a bit more spice and garlic. Thanks!

Excellent. We had a cup or so of cooked spinach. I tossed that in, too, and it was delicious. Because we had the plain old curry powder you get at the supermarket, I also added a little cayenne to pep it up, and it was fantastic. India Pale Ale was the perfect beverage.

So easy and truly tasty. I cooked it in a cast iron dutch oven and it turned out perfectly. I, too, added all the garlic when sauteeing the onions but that wasn't on purpose, just got ahead of myself. I used dried currants... and I upped the amount of curry powder slightly. How could this have ever been "unloved"?
