Lately when I have gone to diner type restaraunts I have been craving tuna melts. But as I try to eat low fat I haven't ordered them for fear of how they were prepared. So when I was looking through Sharon123's reviews for the "I recommend this recipe" game and saw this, I knew I had found my lunch! I used fat free mayo (and only 1 tbsp) and left out the celery as I don't like it but I did use the pickle relish. I used the whole can of tuna on 2 halves of toasted English Muffin and I topped 1 half with 2% American cheese and 1 half with 2% Pepper Jack. Both were excellent. Thanks so much for reminding me that sometimes the simple is the best! What a nice lunch on a rainy dreary day!

These were great,my husband really enjoyed them too! I didn't have any fresh tomatoes so I used 1 Tbsp of chunky salsa instead, and they tasted great.

I made this for DH and my lunch today, I used an apricot chutney in place of the relish.
Easy and tasty, delicious.

Nice & easy. The tuna was good. I used full-fat mayo, as always, and did add the pickle relish. I had doubled the tuna mixture, and put my family's portions on wheat & fiber bread (bottoms). I cut thicker slices of tomato, but that made them too tomato-y, so next time I'll stick to 1/4". Also, I will use cheddar, because my "cheese food" wound up burning before the tuna was close to warm. Next time, I'll skip the bread, use the regular amount of tuna, and put the tomato on the bottom and the cheese on top. Yum!

I loved this! I ended up putting it on a slice of whole wheat bread because we didn't have english muffins.

This was a similar recipe to that of my Grandmother's. She always taght me to add relish to my tuna to make it tastier. Thank you for taking me down memory lane as this is what I always ate for lunch when I would head to her house for lunch at school.
