I poured this marinade over red onions , zuchinni , red bell pepper and portabella mushrooms . I chopped all the veggies into about an inch and a half chunks and marinated them for about an hour at room temp. I put them on shish-ka-bob skewers and grilled them along side my rib-eye steaks . The vegetables were smokey and sweet with a nice bite from the marinade . When they were done cooking , I removed the veggies from the skewers and , drizzled a few of the remaining tablespoons of the marinade over the top ! WONDERFUL !!!

Fantastic Marinade. Made it twice - once with for grilled chicken, once for filet of beef. Made both the Chicken and beef, moist, juicy and full of flavour!

excellent marinade! I used it for chicken, and the chicken came out very moist and added a great taste. I used red wine vinegar instead of the balsalmic vinegar, and didn't have fresh basil, and it still tasted great. I'm definitely going to try it again with fresh basil.

Awesome marinade. I used it for thickly sliced portobello mushrooms and onion chunks. I used a grill basket and served them with grilled steak. I highly recommend this easy dish. Thanks Barb for sharing.

Perfect marinade! I made the recipe exactly as written (except for doubling it) and boy was it good! I will use this again and again. Thanks.

This was a great marinade for veggies. We really enjoyed the flavour. I'm sure this would be a good marinade on meats as well.

I marinated veggies overnight (see recipe# 64050)"Grilled Veggie Packet" and cooked on the charcoal grill for 40 people. The group raved about them and took the leftovers home. I'd recommend liberal use of salt on the veggies or in the marinade.

I cannot begin to explain how thoroughly I enjoyed this recipe. Every week I try at least one new recipe...and this week I picked this. OMG, I had my fiance eating vegetables he usually doesn't go near. We chose 2 portabello mushrooms, one zucchini, one squash, one red bell pepper and one white onion to marinate. This made four huge kabobs....we grilled on our new dual zone professional Brinkmann and I cannot say enough good things about how delicious the vegetables were. I will pass this on to everyone I know. Thank you so much for posting this.

I would rate this as "okay". The marinade smelled wonderful but after about 4 hours marinading on bell peppers, red onions, mushrooms, asparagus and zucchini, I could only taste the marinade on the mushrooms. I think I would prefer just a bit of olive oil and salt next time on my vegetables.
