23 Reviews of Dry Oatmeal Mix

Excellent!! I made this up in no time at all. My sons and I each had a bowl for lunch. I ended up using soya instant milk powder as that was what I have on hand. I didn't put any dried fruit into the mix as my one son doesn't like it. But I did add some raisins and some sweetened flaked coconut to my bowl. This deserves a whole bunch of stars because oatmeal usually makes me gag and yet I loved this! I could have gone back for a second bowl! The end amount is the same as you would get out two of those little, store-bought packages. In my microwave, I cooked it for 2 minutes. And I also add 2/3 a cup of water due to the raisins soaking it up. Thanks for posting!

This is such a great idea! Those packets of pre-sweetened oatmeal do get expensive and they are overly sweet. I tried the recipe this morning and I really liked it. I didn't add the dried fruit into the whole mix though. I decided I'd just add a tablespoon of dried fruit when I'm cooking it. That way I can vary the taste from day to day by using different dried fruits! Thanks

I put 4 1/2 cups of oatmeal and ground the other cup and a half along with a handful of slivered almonds and some wheat germ in the blender. I left out the fruit to add as personal preference later. The result was wonderful! Thanks so much.

A great, cheap idea. Makes a lot. I put in extra spices and a little bit of rolled other grains. I'll never do oatmeal another way again!

Very good! I made the recipe as stated, except subbed allspice for the cloves since I am apparently out. This is great! It's very creamy. I made it the microwave. I cooked it for a minute, stirred and cooked for another minute. I made a double serving, so that may be why it took two minutes. I also like mine very thick so I can add milk. The flavorings are good, but I did add more cinnamon to my mix. Very good recipe! Thank you very much!

This gets 5 stars all the way. However, I have made this 2 times, and the 2nd time(with modifications) was even better. Here is what I did: I used 6 cups oats as recipe states (an 18 oz container is close enough). To this I added 1 1/2 C nonfat dry milk, no fruit, 1 cup of splenda (yes 1 full cup!) and 1/3 cup brown sugar. To this I added 3 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tsp salt. I stirred it well and placed it in an empty 42 oz oatmeal container. Tastes alot like a store bought instant oatmeal. Next time I might increase the brown sugar even more and decrease the splenda a little. Anyway, it's great!!

My super picky autistic son literally licked the bowl--I'd say that makes 5 stars!!!

Thank you so much for posting this! I have been looking through my Light and Tasty magazines all day looking for this specific recipe. This is so much better than the packaged stuff at the store. I like to make mine with a tropical medley of dried fruit.
