My children DO NOT like canned condensed soup; this fits the bill. I used milk (2%) insted of the half-and-half. My DH, however, said that I was spoiling perfectly good soup with the milk. He at it, and DID NOT complain. I guess it met his "high standards"! I will make this soup again, as the kids DO NOT LIKE condensed soups and this is VERY GOOD!!

    This is the easiest recipe for homemade soup that I have ever seen, and it tastes great. It's the perfect texture. If I make it again, I'll try to get seedless diced tomatoes though. To cut back on calories even more, I used a type of Greek yogurt called FAGE instead of cream or half-and-half. Speficially, I used fat-free FAGE. The yogurt is very thick and is great as a substitute for sour cream, but it's sold in very large containers, so I used it in this recipe as a way to get rid of it Most of it integrated perfectly, but there were a few cooked clumps in the end. Luckily, they just added even more texture and flavor to the soup. I'll definitely try this one again.

    Delicious soup! I used roasted garlic diced tomatoes as stated and I used fresh chicken broth. I omitted the butter as I used butter in my chicken broth. Love the flavor of this tomato soup. I pureed the tomatoes but lefted alittle chunky, still turned out good. I will be making this again. I served this with Classic Club Sandwiches. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

    wow that was yummy, used a splash of milk and stirred some yogurt through before serving and it tasted amazing. Also so economical which is always appreciated!

    This was delicious! I didn't have enough half and half, so I did about 1/2 c half and half and then 1/2 c sour cream.
