Zaar and Princess Buttercup to the rescue! I was in a panic because my youngest needed to make a sweet and sour chicken dish to share for school and all she brought home was the chicken. I didn't have much else in the house so I chose Laudee's Sweet and Sour Skillet Chicken and needed a chili sauce substitute. Come to find out yours is the recipe she used as well!! It tasted superb, DD raved and you helped save the day!

It was just the lifesaver I needed to make #57271 - Hot Crab Dip. I defrosted some tomato sauce I made with garden tomatoes last summer and had this together in no time. Thanks!

This is SO easy and quick to make. I am going to use it with the Oven Barbecue Spareribs recipe. I only had whole allspice, so I took one "ball" and crushed it. (I also used ketchup instead of tomato sauce.) Thank you. I don't like buying the bottled version. This is healthier.

This worked great for a recipe I suddenly realized I needed chili sauce for - easy, everything on hand, tasted just fine. Thanks for sharing!

Perfect! I made this to use in a recipe, but I'm thinking it would be good in other things too.. I might try it on top of meatloaf.

I have to tell you, Girl, this is some kinda sauce. I used it in Sweet and Sour Skillet Chicken, and it's the best I've ever turned out. Bottled chili sauce pales in comparison. It's easy and fast to mix up with stuff I keep on hand anyway. Thanks for sharing, PB...I'll be using your recipe often.

Made this to use in Peppered Beef Brisket in Beer. I never buy chili sauce and avoid recipes that call for it (similar to what others have mentioned) because I just can't see buying one more jar of stuff to keep in the fridge. Anyhow, this worked great in the recipe I used it in. Thanks! Was easy to make, too and I had all the ingredients on hand.

Like most of the other reviewers, I avoid recipes calling for chili sauce because I don't want to keep one more thing in the refrigerator - this is a life saver!

I used this in Crock Pot Pork with Root Beer Sauce and it worked out very well. Like everyone else said, I don't keep chili sauce on hand because I hardly use it. I'll definitely keep this in my substitutions file for those odd instances. Thanks princess!
