I can't believe I haven't rated this for as many times as I have made it!! This is absolutely delicious!! And SSOOOOOO easy its almost wrong lol The only thing I did differently than the recipe was to wrap the apple in the crescent rolls and pop them into the oven for a bit before adding the sauce they we're alot less soggy that way. Though they were delish soggy or not
but if you want them to look pretty as well as taste great try baking them 5 or 10 mins first till they raise a bit, then pour the caramel sauce and pop over it. Thanks so much for sharing TwinTwo!!
PS: Debbie I cut the sugar down and they turned out just as wonderful as the first time!!

Absolutely delicious! I only made half the recipe because it's just the 2 of us,but it is melt in your mouth yummy. I didn't change a thing. Next time I'll try it with low fat margerine because of DH.

This was sinful. I followed some of the suggestions by others that have reviewed this. I cut down the sugar and the amount of Mt.Dew. I also put the sliced apples in a baggie of sugar, cinnamon, and a dash of nut meg and coated them before rolling. I also rolled two apples in some and cooked it without the sauce for 10 minutes to brown and cook the crescents to avoid it being under done. I've made them twice in a week. The first time I cut the reipe in half (only 2 of us). We had company this weekend and made them again. Everyone thought it was delicious and asked for seconds.

The very first bite I thought they were good but as I continued to eat I thought the inside apple part was boring (next time I'll toss the apples in sugar, cinn., nutmeg, lemon juice) There also was way too much sugar. There has to be a way to cut back. I cooked them for 15min longer and the middle was still very doughy, and there was a ton of liquids that I kept pouring off. Next time I'm cutting back on the sugar and will leave the soda out. This recipe needs to be perfected still. I'm gonna try it one more time but change it up!

I can't believe I ran across this recipe twice in one day, first at the pioneerwoman site and now here. I think it's just delicious once the sugar is reduced, some spices are added to the apples, the amount of Mtn. Dew is reduced AND the dumplings are partially pre-cooked sans sauce to keep them from being soggy. Thanks!

My husband makes these. (It's the only dessert he makes
) They're so good. A little too sweet so he cuts the sugar back to 1 1/2 cups, but other than that wonderful. Super easy and good with ice cream. They refrigerate well too, even better the next day!

I made this for our Labor Day get-togeather. Everyone loved it! Just made a couple changes. Baked the apples before pouring the sugar mixture over them. About 10 minutes, just when they started raising. Then omitted the last 10 minutes covered. They were cooked thru out but not mushy. Will definately make this one again. Thanks!

The recipe is one of my absolute favorites!!! Last year I made this several times between Thanksgiving and Christmas and it was always the hit of the meal. It is so easy even my teenage daughter who never cooks will happily make it. This is on my Top Ten List!

OMG! These things were sooooo good. I admit I am a Mountain Dew junkie, and this only aggravated an already-bad drinking problem! These dumplings were soooo sweet and gave the ultimate sugar rush. I even drank Mt. Dew with them! Definitely a keeper.
