21 Reviews of New Potatoes,Green Beans and Ham

From: LorenLou

Yum! The way fresh green beans should be made. This is pretty much how I've made them except I used about 4 slices of bacon, diced, which I threw in the pan and started sauteeing with the onions. I threw everything else on top, and seasoned with a bit of Cajun seasoning in addition to the s&p. I added a bouillion cube (and water) since I had no broth, and simmered for only about an hour, and they were divine!

Wonderful and so easy! I made this in the crockpot and the house smelled so good. I followed your instructions using the chicken broth and it was so good. The next time I make it (and there WILL be a next time) I will try your suggestion using the Lipton's soup mix. However, the recipe as it stands is WONDERFUL the way it is. Carole, thank you so much for sharing a great recipe.

Very good and smelled wonderful! I used regular white potatoes, about a lb. of ham, chicken broth, fresh green beans from the garden and a garlic glove. Served along with fresh garden tomatoes.

Excellent recipe! Me, my husband and 3 teenagers all loved this, and it was very simple to put together. A nice, easy, after-work meal. I cooked it on the stove, also added a can of corn, and the flavor combination was just wonderful.

Delicious! I've posted my own version of this recipe here on Zaar, but one day when I wanted to make it I didn't have a ham hock on hand, so I went searching to see what else I could use to add flavor. Using the chicken broth is wonderful! In fact, I may alter my original recipe to include the chicken broth. Thanks for posting!

We liked this a lot. I added a half a teaspoon of onion salt to it. I think I'll chop the potatoes and onions fine next time so it can be a soup. Thank you!

This was quite tasty. I used the Lipton Garlic and Herb soup mix as suggested, and I think I would not do that next time, I think I would prefer the simple flavors of the ham, beans and plain broth to shine through. I would leave my ham in a little bit bigger peices as well. All in all a very good one pot meal.

I love to find good crock pot recipes for the days we are out of the house during the day but want to eat at home for dinner. This smells great and is fairly healthy too. I served it with creamed corn and corn bread muffins and honey butter. Thanks!

Yummm! I put this in the crockpot before going to work and came home to a wonderful aroma. It was really good as leftovers, also.
