Wonderful, and easy to make! I also added cheese on top for the last 15 min — turned out great!

Excellent scalloped potato recipe. I used only 1/4 lb ham and think the recipe would not suffer one bit with out any ham at all. I am preparing the dish for the second time.

Where to start? I substituted 1 lb. bacon for the ham, because I was baking a ham to go with it. I read all the reviews and add an extra 30 minutes to the cooking time. I added extra cheese at the end. I know it sounds like I changed your recipe, but I didn't it came out perfect. This is now my recipe for scalloped/au gratin potatoes. One word of advice Place casserole dish on a cookie sheet when baking. It's easier to clean the cookie sheet than the oven if it boils over.

This is a very delicious recipe! I did what Giovanna did and used a glass 9x13 baking dish, it could not have been prettier and the smell while cooking was wonderful. This tastes fantastic! I followed the recipe exactly using 2 ham steaks that I didn't know what to do with, my prep time was way longer than 20 minutes, but I also had my 9 year old son helping so I take that into account, I also kept them covered a bit longer because my oven is slow and I had perfectly cooked potato. This could even be used as a holiday sidedish, or maybe even fried up a bit the next day and served with eggs! mmmm I am off to go try that now! Thanks Dancer

Very good indeed. I fixed the whole recipe for 8 last night and invited the couple next door and their son over for dinner. I can honestly say this is a meal all on its own. There 'were' no left overs. s This will be a repeater for sure. Thanks for sharing it.

I doubled this recipe for Christmas dinner 2000 and everyone came back for 2nd's and some even for 3rd's. Very easy to make. I increased the cooking time to 60 min's and put a extra cheese on top for the last 15 min. uncovered for a nice crust of baked cheese.

This was wonderful, it was a meal all by itself It was so good no leftovers and the kids want me to make it again soon. Thanks.

This was really good and my family enjoyed it immensely. I halved the amount of salt because I thought it was excessive, considering the ham, which is salty in itself. Good thing I did because 1 tsp. of salt was plenty, and maybe too much, for this dish. I didn't find that I had to cook it longer than what the recipe stated, it was ready right on time. Thanks Dancer, good recipe!

Excellent meal. We loved it. Makes a great meal when you have leftover ham. Very rich, of course I added extra cheese to mine. Probably a cup extra.
