I give this cake 5 stars as well as my roomate, friend and coworkers. It was moist and crunchy. I enjoyed with milk but the coworkers had theirs with coffee. I will make again and probably add even more walnuts! I picked this recipe while looking for the similiar cake a family friend baked for my dad on numerous occasions when I was a young child. I didn't share with dad this time but promised him I would bake the entire cake for him on his January 6th birthday!

Moist, delicious, spicy. Mix was very stiff, but cooked nice and moist. I did not add walnuts either, but only because I did not have any. Next time I will add walnuts or pecans.

Tried this wonderful recipie today and i wasn't dissapointed when i tried it. A lovely moist cake, which looks great when you cut it, with those chunks of apple and cinnamon, my favourite spice. I left out the walnuts as my kids don't like nuts, a cake i will be making again and again..thankyou for sharing it lvtobake

Yummy cake! I followed the recipe and used Granny Smith apples. I used walnuts, and because it doesn't say when to put them in I mixed them with the apples and put them in the layers. The batter was a little stiff so I put in 2 Tbsp sour cream to thin it enough to manage, and it didn't hurt the flavor at all. Thanks for a delicious and pretty to look at cake. Carole in Orlando

I have been making this cake for several years, and we LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! I've started using a little less sugar, and I've even used 1/2 whole wheat flour once with good results. A real favorite, jam packed full of good things!

I bought a silicone bundt pan and found this recipe to try in it. WOW- it was the best. Moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I think this is the first cake I have ever made that didn't need frosting. Prefect for breakfast. Gotta have milk or coffee with it. I made no changes when preparing it other than I may have used more than 2 cups apples. I used 3 medium Galas and, I used canola oil, not veg. My batter was perfect and next time I may just add the apples to the batter and then spoon into the pan. This is definately a keeper and I suspect it would freeze beautifully if it stays around the kitchen long enough to cool !!Thanks RI, you made my day..

This cake is fabulous. I did make a few changes. I used 4 cups of apples and mixed it with the batter. I used 1 cup white and 1/2 cup brown sugar. I also added 2tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp allspice directly to the batter. I baked it 1 hour 15 mins. It came out so great and everyone loved it.

EXCELLENT!! This was a very moist and delicious cake. I will be keeping this one. I did't add any walnuts because my family really does not care for them. Made it before going to work came home and it was half gone. It was very easy too...Thanks for sharing

Dee-lish!! This is one yummy cake. DH made most of it, all I really did was core, peel and dice the apples. He put a few pecans in, and we've just now tried a bite still warm from the oven. This is a keeper - thanks so much for sharing it!
