Delicious! I hosted a party for a women's league and used a German theme. I chose this recipe because it was EASY and used things I had on hand. My daughter was very disappointed to find none left when she got home, so I made another the next day. I sprinkled the top with cocoa powder. It was very pretty. Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

This was absolutely delicious! And extrememly easy and quick to put together. The only thing I wasn't sure about was when to put the topping on. It says to put the cherry filling on while warm but I wasn't sure about the pudding. I waited until the cake had cooled to put the pudding on and it turned out great! I took it to my inlaws for a family dinner. Everybody raved over it. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law were groaning because they were so full while heading for seconds of the cake. My husband raved all the way home. Great recipe Karen. Thank you!

I make this cake every year for my fiance's birthday. I'm always looking for ways to cut calories so I use fat free/sugar free pudding mix and sugar free cool whip and no sugar added cherry pie filling. I've been able to cut the calories and sugar in half! I love this recipe!!!

My kids loved this! Super easy. The only thing I didn't use was the maraschino cherries on the top. Thanks Karen!

Never in my house has a cake disappeared in less then two days, until I made this baby! This cake is SO GOOD!!! My husband actually said he thinks I should open a bakery (if only he knew where I got my recipes from!!!) Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful, PERFECT cake recipe. It will be used again and again. The only changes I made was to use two 8 inch pans, put the cherries in the middle and some on top and grated some chocolate on top over the pudding mixture!

YUM! I LOVE black forest cake (in fact I had one for my wedding cake) but it's not something that I can make quickly. This recipe has all the taste of traditional black forest cake without all the work! My DH even commented on how good it was ~ so 5 stars all the way. Thanks for posting ~ I'll be making this when those cravings hit!!

You're right, this was the easiest! I made exactly as you have written (except I didn't have time to decorate it...). Thanks for posting!
