I made your microwave rice recipe for my dinner tonight and was I impressed. I've always had good results with the "OLD" method but I thought, what the heck, I'll try it this way and I'm so glad I did. I made brown rice, just my preference, and it was perfect.I didn't have a problem with it boiling over, it was not clumped up, well, it was perfect.!! Of course I had way too much but I put it the freezer, so no problem. Thanks, Ridgely. It's a keeper. I'll never go back to my old way again.

This came out perfect! I had printed out this recipe some time ago, but necessity required my trying it today — my stovetop died. I used water and it turned out great. Will definitely keep broth around for the next time. Since this was a first attempt, I cooked the recipe as is, to see how it would turn out. (Guess we'll have rice pudding tomorrow, with all of the leftovers! HA!) Next time, will halve the recipe. I'll use this a lot — sure is nice to free a burner up when you're cooking!

Perfect, perfect, perfect! And I didn't have any long grain rice but it still turned out perfect. Everything I've tried that you have posted has been simply great! I cooked way too much rice, but I have found sumptious ways to use it. (I too, next time, will cook less, but it was so much fun!) Someone told me years ago that rice would not work in the microwave. Ha! I've been cooking rice forever and ever atop the stove & it's never turned out better than this did. Does it work for brown rice too, do you know?

Yes, this really does work. I used some homemade turkey stock that I had in the freezer which made this rice very flavorful.

I'm so happy! I didn't have time to fiddle around with watching my rice tonight, so I tried this and it worked wonderfully. Thanks so much!

Such a simple method to prepare excellent rice. This was a no-brainer, cleared up a burner, kept the house cool, and cleaning up was a breeze. Thanks for a keeper recipe, Ridgely!

I normally make rice pilaf that takes 30 minutes on the stove. I was making chicken over the weekend and ran out of time, or got distracted and forgot to get my rice on. I had seen this recipe and decided to try it. WOW, amazing, who'd thought rice would tastes so good from the microwave. Thank you for sharing it was not only a time saver but delicious. I've got this recipe saved in my cookbook. It was absoutely terrific. ~V
