A really good cookie! I used chopped walnuts instead of chocolate or raisins, and added and extra half-cup of coconut, just to finish off the bag. And tried to make them a little healthier by substituting Splenda for the sugar, 1 cup whole wheat flour for one cup of white flour, egg whites instead of a whole egg, and used only half the recommended oil (other half came form apple sauce). So, even with these modifications I loved the results! And I also got a LOT of cookies, so sclae down the recipe if you're not making them for a bunch of people. I will make them again of course!

I made this recipe this weekend to satisfy an oatmeal cookie craving that I had. It was wonderful! I substituted splenda for the white sugar and wheat flour for half of the white flour and I used raisins. I baked for only nine minutes. Also, this made so many cookies that I had to freeze half the dough. Excellent recipe! This is a definite keeper!

Though oatmeal base cookies are not a favourite with me I wanted to try this recipe. Very delish, got the thumbs up from hubby, the coconut is a nice touch. Contributing these to a bake sale to be enjoyed by others but we kept a dozen or so for ourselves as a treat. I modified by using butter only. Baked for 9 minutes, my oven is fast so i generally reduce the time by 1 min or 2. Produced a nice soft chewy cookie, about 80 small cookies, used a tsp to make smaller cookies !!! Will make again, thanx for sharing !

Great cookies!! I purposely made them small for Christmas stash, Got 114, how about that!! I only had about half a cup of coconut so I doubled the chocolate chips, and used all butter. Nuuummmy!!! DH thinks they are the best he's had in a long time, I even ate one to see how they were and have to say, had to force myself not to have anymore. For my oven 9 minutes was perfect. I will definately be making these again, thanks Barb for sharing a winner!!

We love these cookies, they don't last a day in our house
I usually make them with 1 cup golden raisins and 1 cup walnuts but have substituted pecans for the walnuts and have also made them with white chocolate and macadamia nuts, yum!

This are great! I have made them several times and they always come out terrific! The last time I made them I used dried cranberries and was delighted with the results. Try these and you'll never make another oatmeal cookie. Thanks for posting!

Made these over the weekend and they turned out well. I subbed 1/2 cup applesauce in place of the butter and then added some mini chocolate chips. I love oatmeal cookies so I was excited to try these.
