Very good egg salad. I had never heard of adding butter to the egg! I found the addition of melted butter really helped to hold the egg salad mixture together once it was chilled and therefore they were less "messy" than most egg salad sandwiches. The butter also adds a nice rich flavour. I added a few chopped onions, a tiny bit of Dijon mustard and also used Hellman's mayonnaise.

Yum! This was so good and very easy to make. I loved the addition of the butter and will definitely be using this as my egg salad recipe from now on. I didn't use any of the optional ingredients or the celery salt. I also enjoyed this on croissants instead of bread. Thanks for a great recipe, Charlotte!

This is the most delicious egg salad I have ever tasted and will now be my standard recipe. I wanted to use up a bunch of Easter eggs I had lying around, so I thought I would give this new recipe a try and I am so glad I did. I did leave out dill weed and celery salt as I had neither in the house and I also did not add any of the optional ingredients. I used garlic powder, not garlic salt, and just adjusted the regular salt measurement accordingly. I think the flavors of the seasoned salt, the garlic, and most especially the melted butter really made for a superior flavor.

I initially gave this recipe four stars because my husband is VERY selective about giving five star ratings. I assumed that, because he gives EVERYTHING three or four stars, he would give this recipe three or four stars too. FYI - I have been making Zaar recipes for over a year and he has only judged two recipes worthy of five stars. I, personally, could not make a judegment to rate this recipe because I don't like egg salad sandwiches and, therefore, don't eat them, so I just assumed it was four star quality. Boy was I wrong!! After telling him I gave the recipe four stars, he immediately said, "That's it?" Anyway, he thought this was a superb recipe!!! However, the first time I made it, I made it as written, but it was a little too salty. The second time I made it, I left out the table salt, which helped reduce the saltiness. Even with the higher amount of salt, it is a great recipe! My husband thanks you!!

This is yummy! I didn't use any of the optional ingredients, nor did I have any celery salt. I also added some mustard, which I think is a staple in making egg salad! The butter adds great texture. My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed this! Thank you Charlotte!

We thought this was good. I didn't add any of the "other ingredients", but did add a squirt of Kraft horseradish sauce and yellow mustard, which is something that I always put in egg salad.

Just made this and was very happy with it!! I did a couple of small changes: Didn't have seasoned salt, so I left it out and used a bit more regular salt. Also, I added an 1/8 tsp of sugar to counter the saltiness a bit. (next time, I will use celery seed instead of celery salt.) I found that it was easiest to mix all the wet and seasoning ingredients together before adding the eggs. This way I was able to get a smooth and well-mixed 'sauce' into which I could add the hard-boiled eggs. I put this mixture on a whole grain bread with some lettuce and havarti cheese--SO DELICIOUS!!! Thanks for a great recipe!!

yum! mrs. peterson makes a great sandwich!
I cut the recipe in half and didn't add the extra salt because the seasoned was enough for me. I also didn't add any of the other ingredients because I didn't have any on hand. this is a keeper for sure! I tried it before chilling it and think it will just get better as it gets cold and the flavors mingle. thanks for a keeper!

I have made this twice now and YUMMY! I felt it was a bit too salty the first time so i cut back on the salt the second time around. This will be a staple in the lunch boxes from now on!!!! I did cut back on the butter the second time as well and did not notice a huge difference either. Oh and I used mayonnaise for this as I am not a Miracle Whip fan.

My husband and I loved this egg salad. I have never heard of adding melted butter to egg salad, either. But it worked very well and added a nice richness to the overall flavor. I made sandwiches with multi-grain bread and green leaf lettuce. Thanks for posting.
