This was great — tasty, healthy, quick, inexpensive, and vegetarian. I'll definitely be making it again. Since canned beans are high in sodium, I omitted the bouillon and the salt. I also left out the cornstarch. For extra flavor and nutrition, I used 2 onions, 6 cloves of garlic, and 1 teaspoon of cumin. I also added 2 carrots, 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and one tablespoon of tomato paste.

Yum! I tweaked this a bit, and added one bay leaf with the veggies while they simmered.(Removed before pureed) Also added 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper, 1/4 tsp chili pepper with the spices, and 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar with the lemon juice (I only had bottled lemon juice, so I subbed that) It turned out soooo good, I just wish I had doubled the batch! I will def. make this again. Thanks for sharing!!

Very good. Will definately leave out the lemon juice when I make it again, as it gave this a weird flavor. My mom and I are the only ones in the family who eat black bean soup, but we both really like this.

Delicious soup! The cumin and lemon juice give it a fantastic southwestern kinda flavor. I cheated and used a frozen bag of Birds Eye seasoning blend, which has onion, celery and red pepper and just added the garlic. Also used vegetable bouillon. I will make this often, and using the fresh veggies I'm sure can only make this even better next time!

This is quite good, and quite similar to Panera's black bean soup (which I love), but I felt some flavor was missing. I added an extra clove of garlic and some Mexican spices and it was perfect! Thanks for a nearly perfect copycat.

I LOVE this recipe. I eat this soup at Panera's at least once a week and I think it is a dead-on match. I used chicken broth instead of bouillon which meant I had to increase the amount of salt. I also increased the amount of cumin just because I love cumin.

Ohhh, this recipe is SO GOOD. Tastes just like Panera. They probably wonder why I stopped showing up every day. It's beacuse I'm at home, eating huge bowls of this with some fresh baked French bread! An immersion blender really helps get the right consistency. It also freezes perfectly. I make a huge batch and freeze half of it. So good, and good for you!

This was very good. I added more garlic as we love it but I still think it is missing something. A little cilantro maybe? I love how simple it is an will make again!

Oh my gosh, my husband and I love Panera Bread soups and this is soooo close. I will definitely make it again. It also is so easy and fast to make. Many soups need hours to taste good, this took about 20-25 minutes.
