74 Reviews of Bacon Mushroom Chicken

Everyone loved this at my house-no leftovers-my husband was disappointed by that! It was also easy and used everyday ingredients. I didn't have much for drippings because I used skinless chicken breasts, so I added chicken broth and flour to thicken so I had a nice gravy. I'll make it again.

I have to say I saw this recipe and could not wait to try it. This recipe is unbelievably simple and the combination of flavors are fantastic. I did add alot more mushrooms and I was so glad I did as the mushrooms roasted in the drippings and the taste was incredible. DH fell in love with this one as did I. Thanks for sharing Mark! Good job!

Updated Review--Just made this superb recipe again... WOW!! Wonderfully tasty and simple! Again followed recipe, but used little seasoning salt given the saltiness of the bacon. Instead, added some tarragon on each skinless breast, doubled the fresh garlic, and wrapped strips of smoky bacon around each as well, then used full pound of fresh white button mushrooms in-between and around bacon-wrapped breasts. Turned oven to broil for last five minutes; also quickly thickened the juices with corn starch/cold water paste after adding the heavy cream--thick, rich delicious sauce. The marriage of flavors is amazing, even with a full pound of mushrooms, we all "kept our eye" on the last one and resolved a tense situation by splitting the last 'shroom This is a definite keeper! Thanks yooper! — posted Dec 8, 2005 This time (18 Jan 06), added 1/2 cup sour cream and tarragon to juices as I made sauce, again adding corn starch paste to thicken (3 tablespoons cornstarch plus 3 tablespoons cold water, mixed well). OUTSTANDING!!

What a great dish. My family really liked this, even our 2 year old. I used cream of mushroom soup since my husband doesn't care for mushrooms a whole lot (texture, not taste) and it turned out wonderful. Thanks for posting!

Ohhh, so good! I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts and sliced them verically into 2-3 pieces each. I rolled each in a combination of Tastefully Simple Seasoned Salt and Garlic, Garlic. Then I used a Cider House Smoked Bacon and wrapped it around each piece of chicken. I put it in the oven and forgot about it. I had to run and pick up my daughter from dance and stop to pick up heavy cream. By the time I got home (with half and half cuz the convenience store didn't have heavy cream) the chicken had been in the oven over 2 hours. I thought for sure it would be dried out and the bacon over done. No! It was beautiful and juicy. Because I just had half and half, I added a tablespoon or two of butter the the drippings to make the sauce. I sneaked a taste...WOW! There are no words...except, I wish there was more. All three kids loved it and DH raved about how awesome it was. The only thing I would change is to add more mushrooms and simply put them around the chicken instead of on top. That way they could've soaked up more of the wonderful sauce. Thanks Yooper from my whole family (especially me cuz it was so easy and fabulous!)

This is so wonderful! I used boneless skinless breasts, pounded flat so only had to bake 35 minutes... Used an extra garlic clove, and added onion to the drippings and some flour and cooked until bubbly, then added about 2/3 cup milk and boiled then reduced, let thicken, and used that for the sauce. Absolutely wonderful, rich flavor. Thanks!

Fantastic I also added thinley sliced ginger which I felt added to it. I served it lettuce leaves on the base then rice on the leaves and chicken sliced on top. Very attractive and very tasty.

Oh YUM! So good and so easy - just how I like it. Only thing I'll do differently next time is to broil it a bit at the end of cooking to crisp up the bacon. The pan sauce was so good that my fiance turned up his empty plate to catch the last few drops in his mouth... ha ha. I was surprised how moist the chicken turned out. Thank you for this one!
