We had these for Easter brunch. I thought that they were very good. They were actually better after sitting for a day or two. I did add some cinnamon to the dough when preparing due to the fact that I love cinnamon! The only thing that I will change next time is to add a full cup of apples instead of just a half of a cup. There was not quite enough apple taste to suit us. Thanks so much for the recipe.

I used half whole wheat flour for these and they turned out so good I didn't need to spread butter or jam on them!

Oh my Goodness!! I'm in awe! After I added a tad more flour they were the yummiest scones I've ever, ever eaten! (Even better than Starbucks!) Thanks SO much... These will be my sat. morning staple!

Very good but was hoping for a more satisfying apple taste-will increase to a full cup next time I make these...and a touch of cinnamon sounds good too. Thank you Wendy13 for the idea and you, Amamda2, for the recipe.

These were great--taste good and were easy to make. I also added cinnamon to the dough and will increase the amount of apple for the next time. Thanks for the recipe.

I made these using 1 c. of apple or a little more. I added about 2 T. cinnamon in with the batter, and sprinkled some on top with the sugar too. These were great scones! Potzi

I made these with currants and one very large granny smith apple. I found the apple flavor was enough with the currants. I didn't add cinnamon to my dough but sprinkled it on top and also found that to be enough. I did have to add some extra flour while kneading, but that may have been due to my apple. I also had to bake these about 4 minutes longer because they were still a little bit wet inside. Overall, although they tasted nice, I found them to be a little heavy and I would have preferred something just a bit lighter and more crumbly.

My very first home made scones ... I thought they were wonderful! I was careful not to over work them. I had heard that can make scones tough (like my sister's
These were as good as any coffee shop scones. I'm very happy with them - without any changes to the original recipe.

Yeah, I agree these were good probably the same day they were made. I only had a piece left over the next day and it wasn't as good as the same day it was made. Still very good though and easy to make.

Gosh, I forgot to read the part about butter and marmalade and they're already all gone. I guess when I make them next, I'll have to try to remember. These were sure yummy — thank you for such an easy recipe.
