44 Reviews of Chocolate Dipped Krispies Peanut Butter Balls

These cookies are wonderful and will be on my cookie trays at Christmas time this year and every year. I made them with 2 cups of powdered sugar instead of 1 pound which is about 3 cups. They were plenty sweet enough. Rita here is the copy of the Reindeer Droppping story I gave out with the Peanut Butter balls. I printed 4 cards to a page on card stock. Each card, when cut, was a standard 3x5 recipe card size with a copy of the recipe on the back and the story and on the front. Everyone was thrilled, especially those with little children. I also posted a picture of the card attached to a bag of "dropping". Enjoy! Diane in Nebraska - "Reindeer Droppings" I woke up with such a scare when I heard Santa call…. “Now dash away, dash away, dash away all ! I ran to the lawn and in the snowy white drifts, Santa’s darn reindeer had left “little gifts”. I got an old shovel and started to scoop Neat little piles of “Reindeer Poop”. But to throw them away, seemed such a waste, So I saved them, thinking ~ you might like a taste! As I finished my task, which took quite awhile, Old Santa passed by and he sheepishly smiled. And I heard him exclaim as he rose in the sky~ “I know they’re not potty trained, but at least they can fly!” Here is another story to use if you want to dip the peanut butter balls in white chocolate or almond bark. "Snowman Poop" Heard you've been naughty So here's the scoop, All you get is... Snowman Poop!

Instead of paraffin you can use shortening.

It helps to slightly crush the rice crispies before you mix them in.

So very good. I added 2 cups of powdered sugar but did have to add about 1 extra cup of rice krispies. I put them in the freezer for a few minutes till I could shape them. Before dipping them in chocolate with paraffin wax I put the peanut butter balls , covered with plastic in the freezer to freeze,(then Dipped them the next day). PERFECT. This will be my new recipe. Thank-you!!

My recipe also. The best peanut butter balls I've had and I've been around long enough to have quite a few. They do take a while to roll up so I make sure others are around and I invite them to sit down and have some fun. It takes another batch of chocolate when hiring cheap help but it's worth the price of a bag of chocolate chips. Oh, and these are great to eat frozen.

Wonderful! I followed the advice on reducing the amount of sugar and increasing the amount of rice krispies. These were so tasty! I used dutch processed cocoa. Only problem was the next day the rice krispies had lost some of their krisp. I will follow another reveiwers suggestion and slightly crush the rice krispies so the texture will be more consistent. Making the balls is the slow and boring. Be sure to have on some holiday music to keep you motivated.

Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! But Messy! Messy! Messy to make! I chose this recipe over the other peanut butter balls because it used less butter and more peanut butter. I too used just 2 cups of powdered sugar and it was PLENTY!! Still very sweet! One thing I did that has not been mentioned is that I chilled the peanut butter mixture before shaping it into balls - about 10 mins in the fridge, and once they were shaped into balls I threw them into the freezer for 5 mins before dipping them in the chocolate. I thought it was just way too sticky and messy to work with at room temp. Very Yummy!! Glad I found this recipe.

These are great!! I am so thrilled to have found this recipe. I made some for Christmas gifts to send to my boys in NC. BOY! I know they will love them. My hubby says they are wonderful and that I needed to make these from now on! He even helped me make them believe it or not!! LOL I read a few of other reviews and decided to use only 2c. powdered sugar and I agree that it is plenty sweet enough. I also used the shortening and melted that and the chocolate in a pot and then dipped the balls and placed on wax paper to harden. I think I might try white chocolate next time. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!!

These were probably the most popular cookies that I made this holiday season. Everyone really liked these and have already requested another batch. I used chocolate almond bark for the dipping as that is what I had on hand and worked well. I also used butter instead of margarine. The one mistake I made was only making half a batch of these!!! Thanks for the recipe Rita, it is definately a keeper!!!
