I LOVE this recipe. I have started using this instead of buying store bread. My kids both love it and so does my picky husband. I use the honey version as I dont like the taste of molasses. I recommend it for anyone with a bread machine they dont use. This recipe will also scale down to a one pound loaf and turns out just right!!!

This makes one excellent loaf of bread. I used molasses and loved the touch of flavor it gave. I am trying to get away from plain white bread so will use this recipe instead of buying bread from the store. Had a nice texture. Thank-you for posting this recipe.

Great loaf of bread! I don't have a machine so I have been making this by hand . I mix the water and yeast first, add the wet ingredients, then the dry. Knead for 20 minutes, rise 1 hour, punch and form in pan, rise 1 hour (as SponGe has done), then bake at 350 for 1/2 hour. I have tried using all molasses, half molassas and half honey ... both are great. This even worked for me with 100% freshly ground hard red wheat flour! Yum. I make 1 or 2 loaves a week

This turned out wonderful! I used honey (don't care for molasses). Tasted great! I find that some wheat breads are too wood-like to me but this was PERFECTLY balanced! Next time I'll use light crust setting (maybe it's just my machine but medium was too dark). Thanks Karen!

This bread was a bit heavy for me, and I love whole grain bread. But the flavor was really good - I will make again but will probably make "33% whole wheat bread" instead, and maybe throw in some added whole grains.

Wow an excellent bread! Healthy things in general are NOT supposed to taste this good! I used molasses instead of the honey, and it turned out great, it had just a HINT a tiny hint of molasses flavour to the bread. I am a white bread freak, and dad is a whole wheat freak, and BOTH of us enjoyed this bread, therefore it gets TWO THUMBS UP! (I made the 2 pound loaf, and I am GLAD I did)

A wonderful easy bread, makes lovely fresh tasting toast. Just rises a bit too much you have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't hit the top of the machine and collapse. If it looks like its going to I just open the bread machine up and this seems to slow down the rise just enough. Thanks a lot for this recipe it is a lovely everyday healthy bread.

I loved the bread! I just bought a breadmaker this week, and this was the second recipe I tried. I had another one that I was planning on, but had no idea where to find gluten powder. I tried this recipe (as I had all the ingredients), and it was WONDERFUL! Definitely a keeper. I am trying to cook healthier (expecially after seeing how many breads use the high fructose corn syrup, or just flavor their breads as wheat - but not with the whole wheat). Excellent, thank you! Oh - I just did it with 3 cups whole wheat flour, 1 cup bread flour and it's very good too!

Delicious! I used honey, all purpose flour + 2t wheat gluten (to substitute for bread flour). But, this recipe makes a huge loaf. I couldn't let it rise a full hour on the 2nd rise 'cause I was afraid it'd spill out of the 9x5. Next time, I'll use and 8x8 or 9x9. I just may make this my regular (weekly) bread!
