I make these every year at Christmas...."Magic Layer Bars" is another name for these. A VERY good tip.....line 9x13 pan with foil...when the bars cool, they can easily be lifted out and are sooooo much easier to cut!

This is an excellent recipe which makes delicious bars but I wanted to make a suggestion about the method. I saw this recipe on an internet video but the woman put in the condensed milk first on top of the crushed biscuits and then topped it with the coconut, chocolate chips and nuts leaving a few choc chips for the top layer. Then she pressed down gently on the pan with a spatula and then baked the bars. I found this method far superior to the other method of adding the condensed milk at the end because the ingredients tend to get spread more evenly and I have a terrible time pouring the condensed milk evenly over the top. I found this other method even easier to follow and highly recommend both the method and the biscuit bars.

Hey! I was intrigued by the butterscotch chips, but taking my cue from other reviewers, I sprinkled mine with Heath chips and M&M's. I guess that makes 9 Layer bars (lol). With a big glass of milk, or cup of coffee, this is MY kind of comfort food.

Oh WOW! These cookies were so rich and delicious! It is Definately going into my permanent cookbook. I used salted butter on the bottom layer, and I think it added a nice taste to the graham cracker crumbs kind of a salty sweet thing going on. Thanks for posting Marg!

I made these today for my cookie exchange swap and almost didn't have any left to send out. My kids loved these so much that they almost ate them all. I definitely will be making these again and again.....so easy and so delicious!! I didn't have any butterscotch chips, so I subbed white chocolate chips and they still tasted great. Thanks for sharing. I know that my cookie swap partner will love them.

Easy, but GOOD! I've been making these a looong time. Have also tried variations:some good and not so good, but other people liked them. One I liked was to use chocolate graham crackers, if you can still get them, with peanut butter chips.

Oh my gosh, I have been searching for this recipe for years, my mom used to make it all the time when we were kids in the 60's and I was not able to find it with all her other recipes.....These are the best......Thanks again.

I LOVE these bars. I have heard them called "magic bars". I like mine thick so I add a little extra of everything. I have never used nuts with these. There is this great salty-sweet combo in these and they are so moist. Quick and easy for a dessert or afernoon snack!
