Fondue pot not needed if you don' t want. What a great side dish, cook the potatoes and make the sauce and mix them together and serve hot! It's wonderful. Never had that cheese before and it is expensive!! But the whole family liked the cheese when mixed in this recipe!

Wow, this is terrific. I used sharp cheddar rather than gruyere, and added a splash of white wine. I can easily imagine using the cheese sauce for potatoes au gratin. Not light on calories but worth the indulgence. Thanks for posting! --Heather

This is a great recipe - I've made it for several parties. Kids love it too! Tastes great with blanched broccoli and french bread.

What a keeper! Everyone loved this at our neighborhood get-together. The potatoes were unexpected by most of the guests (I did bake the potatoes with olive oil and garlic powder, instead of boiling). I can't wait to take this to our next get-together!

this was very good, first time I have served a cheese fondue for the family, my kids MIL,and other guests loved it. I actaully used some toasted bread cudes, carrot sticks, red pepper and cooked tortellini for dipping too. I used cheddar cheese and mozzarella as no gruyere in supermarket here, also used a cream for cooking not whipping. was just delicious, I mixed the left over potatoes with sauce and baked in oven the next day for a side dish. Thanks

I wish I had more stars for this recipe. We loved it! I received many requests for this recipe. I used purple, red and fingerling potatoes and prepared it the day ahead. I didn't have a fondue pot and just warmed it in the micro as suggested. Thank you Mimi!

Fantastic, easy to cook and great tasting. I modified the recipe to use milk rather than whipping cream, and a garlic and herb cream cheese. Everyone has loved it so far!

I served this at a luncheon I held for my parents and grandparents. Everyone loved it! The only problem I ran in to was that my local grocery store only offered smoked gruyere, which made the whole thing taste like cigarettes to me - I'll make this again with plain gruyere one day and update this review accordingly.

I served this as part of a large fondue dinner and I LOVED the three-cheese fondue!!! I followed the directions to the letter and would only make one small change. I found my potatoes wanted to break as I dipped them so would roast them in the oven for just a few minutes to give them a harder outer "shell".Otherwise, this is an awesome recipe which will be used over and over in the dinner parties to come!
