This was super great chili! I have my own tried and true recipe, but I figured I would try this since I needed to use the crock-pot. Well, my family flipped over it and my husband said I outdid myself! (I explained that I couldn't take the credit!) I used small white beans and light kidney beans for the puree. I didn't put them in the blender, instead I put them in the crock-pot first and mushed them up with a potato masher. I love this part of the recipe, because my family is getting more fiber and they don't have a clue! I have never used cumin or coriander and was worried they might be too strong but the chili tasted like...well...Chili! Thanks so much for sharing! P.S. I used 2 lbs. of ground beef...otherwise, didn't change a thing. NOTE: The spice mix makes enough for at least two batches of chili.

Very good chili! I followed the recipe to a T, but wasn't sure if I was supposed to drain the kidney beans before blending. I didn't, but will next time. Next time, I'll also increase the cayenne a bit, and I'll likely chop an onion and brown with the beef. As I was eating this batch, I could tell that this had the potential to be really perfect for me. One thing for those planning to prepare this dish... if you're like me and easily grossed out, try not to look at the blended bean mixture; it's NASTY looking! Worth it, but very visually unappealing! Thanks for posting this recipe!

I made this for dinner a few nights ago and absolutely love it!! I seasoned the meat with goya sazon; added an extra can of kidney beans and used 90% beef (just 1 pound)and it was perfect. I also substituted the tomato sauce for a huge jar of salsa. It was perfect and I agree that pureeing a can of the beans does give it an extra something! Loved this recipe and will try it next time with ground turkey! Thanks for the great recipe!

I tossed my "favorite" recipe after trying this. I cooked exactly as written, but did add an extra teaspoon of the chili powder towards the end. I served it with additional "hot as blazes" salsa and grated cheese and all of us thought it was great "gringo chili".

This is so similiar to my recipe but decided I would give it a try since I had to make two crockpots of chili to take for my daughters field hockey concession stand. This was very flavorable and I loved the idea of placing the other can of beans in the blender. By doing this, it made the chili reacher. The only two changes I made was to add some finely diced celery and 2 Tablespoons of sugar to take the bite out of the tomato sauce. Thanks for a great recipe.

This is a delicious dish my whole family likes, even my picky 8-year-old son. You can simplify the recipe even more by using a can of refried black or pinto beans instead of putting a can of beans in a food processor.

I absolutely love this chili recipe. The puried beans really make all of the difference. I'm not a fan of kidney beans so I used 2 cans of mild chili beans for a little extra kick, I drained off a little of the sauce but used most of it. I also used a total of 2 lbs of beef and an extra 1 1/2 teaspoon seasoning. Wonderful.

Excellent! You have made me a cook! I now make this once a week, I cant get my husband to stop eating it. Since my kids dont like beans, I just use one can of beans and put them in a blender ~ mush them up so they arent obvious and put them in the chile. They dont even know it! Thank you so much!
