Excellent appetiser! I halved this recipe and made it this evening. I made a few substitutions, but still, these came out so truly tempting! I used margarine instead of butter, 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. black pepper as a substitute for cayenne pepper, 2 cups walnut halves(about 46 walnuts) and 1/2 tbsp. rosemary(dried). Wonderful, went like hot cakes! Thanks!

I made this recipe yesterday. These walnuts were a nice change from all of the holiday sweets! I made a couple of little changes but I don't think that the changes affected the outcome much. I only had dried rosemary so I ground it the best I could with a mortar and pestle. The other change I made was to drizzle the melted butter mix over the walnuts in the pan because I'm lazy and I'd rather wash a small pan than a large pan. ;0) The cayenne was very subtle and when I make it next time (and there will be a next time), I might increase the amount slightly. Thank you very much for posting this recipe!
