This is excellent, it was fast, easy and delicious. I made it almost exactly as written except I mixed the 1/4c. of sugar and the 3 t. of cinnamon together then mixed it into the apples with about 1 t. lemon juice. I also added about 1 t. vanilla and a pinch of nutmeg to the batter and baked it in a springfoam and pan and it was perfect. Thank you for this wonderful recipe.

I would highly recommend this to beginning cooks. It will make your reputation, and it is simplicity itself. Making it with real butter is key, in my opinion, as the taste comes right through. Even committed non-dessert eaters love this. A dash of cardamom is also nice on the apples, or perhaps the Baking Spice from Pampered barbara.

This was the best apple pie I have ever tasted and the easiest to make! The self made crust was so tasty!

This was beyond excellent! From the first taste, my hubby was hooked, and that's saying a LOT about my apple pie "connoiseur", lol! But we gobbled it up so fast, we couldn't get over how yummy it was. Hubby told me to use half brown suger and half granulated suger, which made an almost caramel-like sauce after it was baked. Yum! Will make this over and over again...

Really enjoyed this slightly different apple pie..the cinnamon and sugar amount is perfect. I used granny smith apples. Thanks for sharing a lovely recipe.

I'm jumping for joy. This is how my Swedish Gran used to make apple pie and I never had her recipe. I added fresh crushed cardamom and that's it. My apple of choice were the Gala apples. I can't thank you enough for this much appreciated delsih recipe that brought back memories and I will make this often! This Thanksgiving for sure. **** Any vegetarians out there come see us at Yahoo under groups selection: vegetarian_group

This recipe is easy to make, it's quick and there is no way that you shouldn't have any of the ingredients. I'm not fond of apple pie but when I made this it knocked my socks off. It's so delicious!!!! The apples come out so soft and it tastes like caramel apples.

I'm a Swede and this is very traditional appelpaj. I added some ground cardamom. I had no juices run over, I used a 9 inch deep dish glass pie plate. Will make over and over again.
