This is the best stuffing recipe and I highly recommend it! Everyone loved this stuffing. Initially, I was nervous about the sausage, but it really added a lot of flavor. The only ingredient I omitted was the nuts, and we didn't miss them at all. A note about the dryness/moistness: If you're baking the stuffing outside the turkey, then it definitely needs extra liquid. However, if you're stuffing the turkey, then you really don't need any extra liquid, since the stuffing will collect the turkey juice. Thanks for a great recipe that I'll be using again!

This is an excellent recipe for stuffing. I made it for Thanksgiving and I was pleased with the results. I received several compliments from my family members about how good this was. I used homemade cornbread cubes and toasted french bread cubes as the bread. I omitted the mushrooms, eggs, and salt and used only 1/2 tsp pepper. We like our stuffing on the dry side so I also omitted the eggs as well. I assembled the stuffing the day before and baked it on Thanksgiving day. I noticed that the spices were more dominant the second day and the stuffing was a tad more moist. I thought I should mention that just in case anyone makes this stuffing the day ahead like I did. Thanks crazymom for sharing this recipe. It's a great recipe so I will use it again.

This was a very delicious stuffing - although I did find it a bit salty for my taste. I would probably leave out the salt next time - maybe even cut back on the poultry seasoning a bit. Maybe my sausage was really salty? I did use all cornbread stuffing mix instead of a mixture - only because I didn't want to have leftover cornbread stuffing mix in my cabinets. Thanks, Crazymom for an excellent recipe! It got rave reviews from my Thanksgiving guests!

This was wonderful. I had to add more broth, because I was afraid it would be too dry and not stick well. After it was cooked I still could have added more broth, but it was yummy!

EXCELLENT!! Thank you for sharing this recipe! I've finally found THE stuffing recipe that will become the family tradition for us at the holidays. I added a couple of finely diced fuji apples to the mix as well during saute. A wonderful combination.

In my family, my MIL really takes the cake with her homemade stuffing, so I normally don't make anything other than the boxed variety-because why compete with near perfection? But whoa- was this good! I halved the recipe, but used all the broth and it was easy and superbly tasty. My only mistake was using pre-seasoned stuffing mix and then also adding salt- a little salty for my tastes, but both DH and I couldn't believe how tasty it was! Thanks for such an easy, tasty, filling keeper!

My first time making home-made dressing and it turned out very well. I omitted the poultry seasoning due to other reviews that said it was too salty; and this stuff barely lasted a day after thanksgiving it was that good!
