Tish this truly is an elegant dessert-it also tastes wonderful. I love that I could make this and time it for exactly when I wanted dessert to be served. I didn't serve the pears with the cream (and icecream), just because I thought the pears looked gorgeous on the plates by themselves-I did follow the cooking part of the recipe to a T though. This is a dessert that I will happily be making again.

Absolutely fabulous! Looks and taste! I followed the recipe all the way, taking the suggestion of honey vs maple syrup. Aroma and flavor were wonderful. A special dessert, but so simple. I am going to do this again, and "fool" around with the flavors a bit, just for variety...cause it's a regular keeper.

This recipe makes for a great dessert and it was easy to make, but I felt like there was something missing...something that could be paired with the pears that would compliment the flavor that would make it over the top.

This was tasty and a great way of making poached pears... but the color of my pears weren't quite as lovely as Fairy Nuff's. I used honey, so perhaps if I use maple syrup next time it will have a nicer color (and not be quite so sweet). The family did love the flavor, so I will definitely try again.
