This was very good, eliminating the butter might take out all the fun, but I do believe that it could be cut in half without notice. I also steamed the green beans and then added them to the garlic butter going very lightly on the salt (just a dash). Fresh veggies just can't be beat! So many other veggies could be done exactly the same way - mushrooms, onions, snap peas, etc. etc. Thanks for another great simple one.

Exactly like the green beans I get at our chinese buffet! what a happy surprise to find this recipe and be able to have them at home, I steamed the green beans instead of boiling them, and in the future since I am cutting fat I am going to try and just omit the butter, it HAS to still be wonderful! Thanks Inez!

I have been making these beans for years, and everyone always loves them. I often add a tablespoon or two of lemon juice to the mix. Thanks for posting it.

These were excellent! A perfect combination of garlicy flavor and tender green beans. I normally always use fresh green beans, but had a giant bag of frozen cut green beans I needed to use up - so, I decided to try them in this recipe and hoped for the best. Even the frozen beans worked out beautifully in this. Thanks for sharing this delicious and very versatile recipe that I will turn to again & again.

I really thought this recipe seemed plain, but it is surprisingly delicious and yet so simple and easy for an amateur cook like me. My man is not usually a fan of green beans and was very impressed! This is the only way I will make green beens from now on. Only difference I made was I threw a chicken bouillon cube in with the water. UPDATE: I tried it again and this time without the bouillon cube, JUST WASN'T THE SAME!

I totally LOVED these green beans, never made them fresh before, and the garlic/butter combo make them to die for! I could live on these alone! Thanks so much, I just realized 3 of the recipes I made tonight were from you! lol

Quick, easy and really tasty. I typically prefer olive oil to butter, but I prepared the recipe as posted and it was very good. Thumbs up to MizzNezz.

Excellent and so easy. I used olive oil instead of butter. I didn't miss anything and it is better for your health right?

This was an excellent side dish. My husband loved the Fresh Green Beans and the garlic. Even my son ate them and he does not like green beans. No more canned beans for me unless it is an emergency. Thank you. I think next time I will put just a little more garlic for personal preference.
