This was really good. We made tacos for dinner last night. I browned the meat and drained off the fat. Then I added a few spoonsful of the mix and the water and simmered it until the water evaporated (it took longer than the 2 minutes suggested in the recipe - more like 10 minutes).

I tried your recipe for taco seasonings mix 2 The flavor was good but the salt content was way to high. I would just increase the beef bouillon to 3 teaspoons and leave the salt out.

I omitted the salt and added 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Garlic powder. My husband likes a lot of heat in his food, so I also added some corriander seed, more cumin, and some chipotle pepper. I tossed everything into my coffee grinder. I liked this, because I react badly to MSG, and the packaged brand we used to use had MSG in it. I like the ability to control the amount of sodium in the meal, too! Thanks for this recipe!

Nice flavor to this seasoning mix, fresher than the store bought envelope. I didnt add the salt and did include the red pepper flakes. Will be using this from now on! Thank you Pamela for posting this recipe.

Thank you Pamela! My picky, picky children know when I don't use the right store bought taco seasoning (the little boogers) but this one....oh this one...they raved! "Mom what did you do...this is the best ever" Little did they know it was this taco mix! They thought it was new cheese or something! I now always have it on hand. And I did eventually tell them about the switch. They help make a new batch every so often!

It has great flavor but I cut down a little on the salt. It is better than buying the store stuff. Thanks Pamela for posting this.

Best seasoning around for taco meat! Absolutely perfect- I just put in a dash of red pepper flakes to keep the heat mild for our toddler, but other than that, followed recipe exactly. This got rave reviews at a party from people who claim to not care for Mexican food! Excellent with crock pot chicken!

I finally tried your crockpot taco chicken with this taco seasoning instead of a different one. Phenomenal!! This is simply an amzing spice blend. I made a few small changes. I cut the salt down to about 2 tsp, and I used a low sodium beef broth. I also forgot to put in the oregano, and didn't realize till it was too late. Oh well, it was perfect just the way it was. I have about 1/2 the batch left, and will be making a double batch as soon as I run out. Thanks so much for this recipe

For me, this was perfect! Not too much zing but plenty of flavor. My husband, who prefers zippy things, complimented me on it and the kids all had extra helpings. Definitely will keep this one on hand!

I was so tired of packaged taco seasoning envelopes that only tasted like salt — and way too much of it — that I was happy to find this recipe. I didn't know if my eat-on-the-run family would notice the change, even though I certainly thought it was a great improvement, but they did and make a point of mentioning how much they liked it. I haven't bought taco seasoning from the store since. It's great, thank you so much for posting.
