These sugar cookies are the best ever in the whole wide world!!! I was surprised at how easy to make they were. I didn't make the frosting, just rolled the dough in little balls then rolled them in sugar and baked. Turned out great. Very soft and buttery. I know I ate at least half of them by myself.

I liked these cookies a lot but I found that they didn't taste as good if you rolled them out for a thicker cookie. The most delicious ones were the ones that I rolled very, very thin. Who would have thought that the thickness would affect the taste. I'll use this recipe again.

Stop searching..this is the one!! After countless sugar cookie setbacks I found this one-i will search no longer! These cookies are amazing! So light and buttery, not crispy, just...perfect. I cook mine for only 7:45 (my oven is crazy..literally) and I add 1 tbsp of warm milk to the frosting recipe. Yum.Yum.Yum.Delicioso!I would not rec. For rolling (unless you freeze for about 1/2 hr.)b/c the dough is too soft. I roll dough into little balls and press down w/a meas. Cup. Perfect circles every time! I can't keep these in the house and now people not only compliment me on my cookies, they actually eat them too!! A million thanks every time I bake!

I have a recipe almost exact to this, mine just used a 1 tsp. vanilla instead of 1 T. I decided to try these in a slice and bake format because I was pressed for time. (not to mention that I hate the rolling out part!!) I got 3 rolls out of the recipe and chilled them overnight as I made the dough late last night. Today I sliced them and got just a tad more than 7 dozen. I did double the frosting recipe as we like our frosting a bit on the thick side and the double batch covered all but 3 cookies, so I say it was just the right amount. I do know this is a good dough to work with if you are rolling your cookies but I was delighted to find it worked equally as well slicing and baking. I am just billing them as snowman parts, some assembly required!!

I made a batch of these for my bridge group. I used all my different leaf shaped cookie cutters and made the glaze different fall colors. They turned out so beautiful and melted in your mouth. I had a lot of fun making them and my friends were amazed at how beautiful and delicious they were. Thanks Nurse Di.

These are probably the best sugar cookies I've made so this recipe is a keeper! I ran out of butter so I used 1 cup of butter and 1/2 cup of margarine. Still turned out okay!

These are the best!! I didn't chill and roll them out though - I made balls and then flattened them out into about 1/4" and dipped them in colored sugar and baked them how the recipe called for. They came out great and were a lot less work than rolling them out.

I made these cookies to take to my women's bible study meeting. The dough came together well. Rolled out very easily and I used different Christmas cookie cutter shapes. Piped with colored frosting. They looked beautiful and tasted like a delicate butter cookie. Thank you so much.

These are some of the best sugar cookies I've ever made. I made a batch for Valentines Day and read the recipe wrong only using 2 tsp of vanilla, STILL fantastic.. they were gone so fast. Hubby took some to work and he was sent out on a job for a couple hours, when he came back they were gone so I had to make him more to console him, Sugar cookies are his favorite and the LOVES these. Thanks for a great recipe. This one is going into my book of keepers.

I made these cookies with my 3 1/2 year old twin boys. We had a BALL! I bought them the small cookie cutters i found at the grocery store (santa, star, snowflake, bell, etc) and they did a great job! The dough wasn't sticky, and stayed together well enough that they didn't get frustrated with it at all!!! WONDERFUL. And the best part is, the thickness of the cookies you cut out doesn't matter. These are great thick or thin!
