This was very good, loved the flavours in this steak dish. I used rump steak and only baked in the oven for just under an hour, I used cheddar cheese and served this with creamy mashed potatoes which was a good thing as it makes a lot of sauce. Will definitely make it again.

I've made this a couple of times now. It's very good but I cut down on the sugar and added oregano, basil and garlic powder. I also prefer to wait until it's almost done to put the cheese on.

This is really good. I didn't have the tomato paste but I did have some jarred spaghetti sauce so I substituted the jarred sauce for the homemade sauce in this recipe. Since the round steak I used was very thin, I cooked the dish for about 1 1/4 hrs. instead of the full 2 hours. I served this with home made bread to soak up the extra sauce. Excellent!

This recipe turned a plain old tough slab of round steak into a tender and tasty treat. For once, I didn't have to change anything to please my husband. He went back for seconds, which is high praise! Will definitely make again.

Great recipe,Diggy. I actually used my famous red sauce instead of the tomato paste, water and seasonings. But the recipe was a "must have" for beef/Italian lovers.

This had a very good taste. I think I will cut back on the sauce ingredients nex time because I seemed to have more sauce then I needed for the amount of meat for 2 people.

This was my hubby's very favorite recipe growing up. His mom used to make if for him all the time. He's been begging me to make it for him, so I'm glad to see it on Recipezaar. He'll be thrilled. Thanks Diggy!

This is one of those recipe's that you will try again but I think change what you did the first time! I used a pint of my homemade tomato sauce instead of the saucer mix and it was way more than we needed. The 2 hour baking time was way too long at least for the round steaks I had and so they kind of burnt a little. But it is one that I will give another stab at because it was pretty good!

I now have a new way to cook round steak!! Thank you for a wonderful recipe. The only thing I did different was to use shredded mozzarella instead of sliced.
